April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

Posted Apr 10, 2022 10:00 PM

This year’s CAP Month theme is Growing a Better Tomorrow for All Children, Together. The 2022 campaign uses a growing theme throughout the materials and concepts, which blends well with our agricultural roots in Kansas!

Central Kansas Pinwheels for Prevention (CKPP) in 2022 will emphasize painting pinwheels on businesses in 10 counties for more visibility in the communities we serve.

Pinwheels for Prevention® is the Prevent Child Abuse America campaign that is based around the message that all children should be raised in healthy, nurturing homes, free from abuse and neglect. The pinwheel represents the need to prioritize child abuse prevention right from the start. The emphasis is the importance of preventing child abuse.

Member agencies of CKPP include the Child Advocacy Center, KCSL Healthy Families, 20th Judicial District Juvenile Services, The Center for Counseling and Consultation, Central Kansas CASA, the Department for Children and Families, and Chapter 16 Oxford Houses.

Contact Tagan at the Family Crisis Center (620-792-1855) if your business or agency would like a pinwheel painted on your window(s).
