The Garfield Fire
Department will sponsor its first ever corn hole tournament and raffle at 10
a.m. on Saturday April 12th at the old 4-H Building in Schnack Park,
128 East Branch Drive in Larned.&nbsp; Cost is
$60 per team which includes two meal tickets.&nbsp;
Participants will play four games of round robin, divided into upper and
lower double elimination.&nbsp; All proceeds
will go towards equipment acquisitions and upgrades for the Garfield Fire

Annual “Hippity Hop Easter Basket Workshop” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday April

decorate Easter eggs, color Easter pages and have pictures taken with the

is now being accepted for the Barton Community College Foundation’s 15th Annual
Sporting Clay Shoot at 9 a.m. Sunday April 27th at The Camp Aldrich
Conference Center near Claflin. &nbsp;Cost is $100 per shooter.&nbsp;
Registration includes 100 sporting clays, prizes for the overall winners and
raffle tickets for prizes. Early bird registration deadline is April 10th.
Proceeds will support Barton faculty mini-grants to enhance student learning

p.m., Saturday, April 5th at Great Bend Feeding, 355 Northwest 30th
Avenue and at Ward Feed Yard, 1190 100th Avenue in
Larned.&nbsp;Bring a shovel, buckets, bags or your pickup truck.&nbsp; ILS
employees will be on hand to help load compost in truck beds and
trailers.&nbsp;In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to April
12th. Contact ILS in Great Bend to find out more.

The Shafer
Art Gallery at Barton Community College will open its “Vortex Day” art show on
March 10th with a variety of 2D and 3D artwork from area high school
artists. The exhibit will also feature fine arts workshops taught by Barton
faculty and will conclude with an awards show on Vortex Day, March 26th.
The Shafer Gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Great Bend Recreation
Commission will sponsor its annual Easter Egg Hunt for dogs on Saturday, April 5th
at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Great Bend. Some Easter eggs will have treats
inside, while others will have vouchers for larger prizes. &nbsp;There will be divisions for small dogs and
larger dogs.&nbsp; Cost is $5 and all dogs
must be on a leash. Registration starts at 1 p.m. with the hunt to follow at
1:15. Call the Great Bend Recreation Commission at 793-3755 to find out more.
