The biggest party of the summer returns to Ellinwood in July as the city celebrates a milestone After Harvest Festival. AHF Committee Co-Chair Nancy Baird said everyone involved wants to make the 50th anniversary a special occasion.
"It is the golden anniversary of After Harvest Fest," she said. "There's a lot of excitement within our community to make that an amazing celebration. We hope that a lot of people - alumni, or just people within our county or surrounding areas - will come to celebrate with us for the 50th."
This year's Festival will run from July 13-15. Baird said the 50th anniversary will have a retro feel as all the events are moved out of the park and back into the downtown area.
"When Ellinwood After Harvest Fest started, it started in the heart of our downtown, so that's where we're bringing it back," she said. "We're so excited. All the activities, the dances, the concerts, the barbecue, everything is going to happen in the heart of our downtown, on the beautiful brick streets of Ellinwood."
