Action from the Monday, February 22, 2021, Barton County Commission agenda meeting:

COUNTY CLERK’S OFFICE: Request for Approval – Added / Abated / Escaped / Refunded Taxes: -Donna Zimmerman, .County Clerk, presented a listing of Added / Abated / Escaped / Refunded Taxes. The listing was approved.

RESOLUTION 2021-05: Placement of Stop Signs at the Intersection of SW 60 Road and SW 20 Avenue, Liberty and South Bend Townships: -The adopted Resolution calls for the placement of stop signs at the intersection of SW 60 Road and SW 20 Avenue, Liberty and South Bend Townships. Barry McManaman, County Engineer, conducted an engineering study and determined that the sight distance is limited by an oilfield tank battery and a row of trees. The Commission heard from a citizen opposed to the placement, but opted to follow the recommendation of the County Engineer. It was noted that a tank battery was recently placed near the intersection.

HEALTH DEPARTMENT: Champ Software – KS Nightingale Notes Subscription: -Electronic medical records (EMR) are the digital equivalent of paper records or charts at a health provider’s office. In December, 2017, the Commission approved the purchase of Nightingale Notes Electronic Health Records and first year subscription from Champ Software. At this time, the Health Department has received a billing of $25,585.00 from Champ Software for the annual subscription of 21 named licenses. The Commission approved renewal of the subscription.

Other Business – Karen Winkelman, Health Director, said that the next vaccine clinic will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.

Commissioner Shawn Hutchinson said that, thanks to Parr Sound and Lighting Co. for providing a sound system at the Expo. This was done at no charge to the County.
