Through the quality-of-life tax initiative, Langrehr Field bathrooms were set to be a project from the Capital Improvement Plan in 2025 with a total cost of $200,000. With the decision to table the Brit Spaugh Park addition, the city is proposing to move the project up to this year.
Langrehr Field, outside of the gates and to the east of the Great Bend Sports Complex, has no restroom nearby for patrons.
The city obtained a quote for a prefabricated restroom with two single user stalls with electric hand dryers, drinking fountain, door closures and a timed electric lock system for $90,000. Great Bend staff plans to place the restroom just to the north of Langrehr Field.
A motion will be presented at the Great Bend City Council meeting on Monday, June 17 to purchase the restroom facility. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
