From holding a groundbreaking ceremony in February 2023 to holding a ribbon cutting this Wednesday, Barton Community College is ready to celebrate the completion of the $3.6 million Agriculture and Transportation Complex.
Barton Foundation Executive Director Lindsey Bogner oversaw the fundraising to match a one-to-one $1.8 million grant to assist in constructing the building on the east side of the Great Bend campus. The dedication Wednesday will begin at 4 p.m. with multiple ribbon cuttings and an open house to follow.
"Starting at 5 p.m. until 6 p.m., we will have the open house," said Bogner. "Teams will be in each area of the facility. You can meet faculty, talk to them and hear the impact the complex has on their programs. Refreshments will be available."
The 14,000-square-foot facility will house the Top Tech Program to provide training to become Case New Holland technicians. The building also has space for the CDL program, crop protection and animal science programs.
