The Great Bend Public Library staff is preparing for their summer events. The theme this summer is “Adventure Starts at your Library.” Staff will focus on the national parks and have related events and activities throughout the summer months.
Library Director Maribeth Shafer said the kickoff is May 31 and the end of summer party will be July 19.
"The end of summer party which is a Mario adventure party," said Shafer. "We'll take the video game and bring it to life. It should be a lot of fun."
The kickoff will include outdoor and indoor games before the June Jaunt parade in downtown Great Bend.
The library is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
