A handful of Eagle Radio employees from Great Bend were honored Monday
night at the Kansas Association of Broadcasters (KAB) Convention in Manhattan.
The broadcasting competition encourages the highest standards of reporting,
programming and promotion.
Eagle Radio won four awards from the state-wide competition and Market Manager
Matt Althouse was recognized with the Rising Star Award as a broadcaster, under
the age of 40, who has made a significant impact on their stations and community.
"It was a great night for Eagle in Great Bend," said Althouse. "It was a lot of fun to get up on stage and talk about the Rising Star award. It was how I accidently ended up there by walking through doorways of people who are very talented and just asking how can I help. It was fun to see a lot of people succeed."
Eagle’s Shannon Towns and Becca Tudor placed second in the Morning Show
category for the “Shannon and Becca in the Morning” show on KHOK.
Phil Grossardt earned second place for DJ Personality Aircheck on KHOK.
Grossardt and Towns won second place for a Commercial 60 Seconds or Less entry.
Grossardt and Scott Donovan received Honorable Mention in the Special Program
category for their Melissa Manchester feature.
