Barton Community College will host a pair of big basketball games against rival Hutchinson on Saturday, March 2 at the Kirkman Activity Center. The games will double as Pink Out Night at the gymnasium. Assistant Athletic Director Heather Panning said 100 percent of proceeds from t-shirt sales for the evening are again going to a good cause.

"On March 2, during our basketball games, we're going to present a check to the directors of Camp Hope," she said. "What happens is you buy a shirt for $12, and you get two free general admission tickets to come to our basketball games against Hutch that night."

The Barton men are currently ranked No. 3 in the nation and Hutchinson enters the game ranked No. 15 nationally. The Cougars won the first meeting 102-80 in Hutchinson last month. The Cougar women just missed an upset against a ranked Butler County team and will play host to the second-ranked Lady Blue Dragons. The college is using the biggest games of the year to generate the most support for Camp Hope.

"We're always looking for ways to help our community, and what better way than to help children who have been struggling with cancer or who have had cancer in the past," Panning said. "That's what Camp Hope is about. They bring those kids together, so we'd like to make a donation to them so they can keep that going."

Women's action is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. that evening with the men to follow. Orders for Pink Out shirts are due by Wednesday, Feb. 14. Call (620) 793-9377 or email [email protected] to place an order.
