Nick Larmer has heard of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) working on cruise ships or even being part of windfarm staffs, but more than likely EMTs are getting hired by hospitals and fire departments.
Larmer, EMS Instructor and
Coordinator at Barton Community College says the Emergency Medical Services
program offered at Barton provides the necessary training to prepare you for
the National Registry Exam for all levels of certification in the State of
Kansas.
"You can get started as an EMT at Barton with training so you can go get a job," said Larmer. "In this day and age with COVID-19, everyone is looking for a job. This is one of those essential jobs that we need more healthcare workers out in the field."
Barton Community College offers course work for EMR, EMT, AEMT and paramedic.
"Barton has one of the best EMS educator course in the nation," said Larmer. "We have done a good job training EMS providers that have started local and have gone on to bigger cities."
Spring enrollment for the EMT classes opens up Oct. 28. Find
