If you haven't managed to get your Covid-19 vaccination yet, now is a good time. The University of Kansas Health System Great Bend Campus is offering the shots Monday, June 7, and Tuesday, June 8, at the Great Bend Events Center. Not only do you get the shot, but you can get prizes as well.

Rebecca Popp, a nurse practitioner and Director of the Ambulatory Clinics at KU - Great Bend, explains.

"We have free meals from Applebees, we've got $50 gift cards to Barton Community College for tuition and fees and we also have the opportunity to win four Royals tickets and a parking pass," she said.

A drawing will determine who receives the Royals tickets. The gift cards and vouchers are available only while supplies last.

Popp says the free vaccine is approved for anyone 12 years and older. A parent or guardian must accompany children under 18. Popp has a message for parents who may be concerned about giving the vaccine to their children.

"It is safe," Popp declared. "It's been approved by the FDA for use in anyone 12 and up for the Pfizer vaccine, and that's the one that we're going to be administering."

The vaccination clinic will be open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. June 7 and June 8.
