The Great Bend Fire Department is&nbsp;giving Fire Inspector Mark Orth a big sendoff&nbsp;on Thursday, July 29. Orth retired from the Department&nbsp;in June after 33 years of service.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

He started his career in 1988 as a volunteer firefighter. He was hired as a full-time firefighter a little over a year later. Orth was promoted to the position of Fire Inspector in 1999.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The fire department&nbsp;is honoring Orth with&nbsp;a retirement celebration&nbsp;from 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the main fire station on Williams Street.&nbsp;The public is invited to attend the event.&nbsp;&nbsp;
