The basketball season for Barton Community College begins next week and there will be no fans allowed in the stands through at least Feb. 5 because of COVID-19, but that is not stopping you from having representation at the gym during games.

The Barton tennis program is still marketing their “Barton Bleacher Buddies” fundraiser. The 18" x 30" personal cardboard cutouts can feature a photo of yourself, family member or even a pet.

Through a promotional video produced by the college, Barton tennis coach Lyle Stickney says this is your best way to secure a seat at the games.

"It would be great to get many people involved in this," said Stickney. "We would love to have you participate in this. If you can't be here in person...be here on cardboard."

The cardboard cutouts can be purchased for $25 each, with proceeds going to offset the tennis programs' seasonal expenses.

"As a bonus, you are able to collect your image at the end of the season and can put it up in your home, car or office," stated Stickney.

The original photo needs to be clear, well lit and emailed to [email protected] by Friday, Jan. 15.
