Great Bend City Administrator Kendal Francis encourages the public to take a tour of the current Great Bend Police Department station. Francis feels if citizens take a tour, they will understand why the city is seeking to build a new facility.
The 7,500 square-foot building is over 80 years old and is required to house up to 40 full-time employees.
Along with another open house
scheduled, the police department will accommodate requested tours.
"I anticipate holding my next Kendal's Koffee outside the police department," said Francis. "Once we finish, the public will be able to take tours and take a look."
The next “Kendal’s Koffee” is scheduled for Oct. 15 at a time
to be determined. The next open house to tour the police station on Williams
Street is Sept. 28 from 4-6 p.m.
A .10% sales tax increase will be on November’s General Election ballot to go
towards bond debt to pay for the construction of a new police station at the
12th & Baker intersection.
