When next Monday, Nov. 2 rolls around, it will be the first full week of November and Election Day will be hours away. Monday will also mark the change of Manweiler Chevrolet to Ehler Chevrolet.
After serving
as the sales manager for the past 10 years, Micah Ehler will take over
ownership of the dealership. Micah says there were months of paper work,
interviews and business plans with General Motors to get the process started
but believes everything will be ready next week.
"It is unbelievable the amount of things you have to switch over with a business that has been doing it this long," said Ehler. "We are hoping everything goes as it should on Friday, so that way when we open up Monday morning...here we are."
Ehler will take over ownership from Gene Manweiler. Gene was the fourth
generation of Manweilers to own the business in Hoisington over the past 92
years. Manweiler has referred to Ehler as the best salesman and that most
people that talk to Ehler, usually end up buying.
"This is a huge honor, something I do not take lightly for myself or my family," said Ehler. "There is a lot on the line, but we are going to hopefully pick up where the Manweiler name left off and continue to grow."
Over the last 10 years working at the dealership, Ehler says he has learned different
ways of building vehicles, which ones to keep in stock and how to handle the
diverse market of people that travel out-of-town and the locals.
"We are going to take care of people," added Ehler. "We are going to take care of our customers."
