High school is supposed to be a special time for young people. The annual Prom is one of those events that can create memories for decades to come. The Great Bend High School After Prom Committee is looking to make Prom Night on April 12 as memorable as possible. Committee Chair Jennifer Turner said the group needs help doing that.
"What we are looking for right now is donations or sponsorships, so people can send us money, they can buy prizes," she said. "Pretty much, it's whatever their business is willing to do to help us out. We're trying to do a few new things this year so having a little more financial help will help us accomplish that."
The After Prom Party will run from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. that evening at the Walnut Bowl. Turner said 150-200 kids usually attend each year and usually stay the duration.
"Instead of attending parties or drinking alcohol, they're having fun, playing games, winning prizes, hanging out with friends, and just having a good time," said Turner.
