In anticipation of Kansas Governor Laura Kelly's Phase 2 of the state's reopening plan going int place this week, Barton Community College presented their phased-in delivery plan to the Board of Trustees last week.

Like many organizations, the college was caught off guard when Kelly announced Phase 1.5. Mark Dean, Vice President of Administration at Barton, says the 1.5 plan did mean some tweaks to the just-approved Barton plan.

"We are attempting to maintain social distancing," says Dean. "With our employees on campus, we are at reduced staffing."

Barton Community College is continuing to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and adjust its operations as the situation evolves.

"It is a fluid situation," added Dean. "We have it posted on our website for what we are doing and how we are making it safe."

"Things will change, I'm sure," said Dean. "Hopefully they change for the better."
