Monday marked the final Great Bend Recreation Commission Board meeting of 2019, and also the final meeting for one of the five-member board. Pollie Unruh was recognized for eight years of service as a commissioner.

"A few of the highlights over the last few years included the installation of the playground over on 17th Street Terrace," said Unruh. "I have enjoyed being involved with putting up new equipment and our monthly meetings."

Unruh was recognized by the board with a plaque at Monday’s meeting at the Carl Soden Recreation Center.

The Rec Board of Commissioners consists of Chairperson Bruce Hofeling, Secretary James Newman, and commissioners Dr. Teri Turkle Huslig and Andrea Bauer.
