The Great Bend Police Department replaces half of their patrol fleet each year. The Police Department budgeted just over $200,000 to purchase four 2020 Ford Interceptors and one Dodge Durango for their Detective Department.

Marmie Motors is accepting the trade in from the Police Department of two 2018 Interceptors, one 2009 Dodge and one 2016 Interceptor.

Police Chief David Bailey mentions there is an average of 75,000 miles on the trade-ins.

"These cars run almost 24 hours a day," said Bailey. "There is a lot of wear and tear on them. We trade cars every two years."

The cost for the vehicles from Marmies is $166,519. B&B Equipment from Russell will install equipment such as cages for $29,256. The total cost of the replacement is $195,775 which was approved from the Capital Outlay budget plan for the Police Department.
