After some unseasonably mild days with temperatures in the 80s over the weekend, July will remind everyone that it is summer in Kansas with temperatures pushing the century mark over the weekend. That makes a free night at the Great Bend Wetlands Waterpark all the more enticing. Central Kansas CASA Executive Director Jennifer Gregg said the organization will be hosting a family swim night on Monday, July 15, from 7-9 p.m.
"These are just our ways to get into the community, remind them we're here, what we do, and make sure we're encouraging those healthy family activities and bonds," Gregg said.
Admission to the event is free and refreshments will be available for all attendees. Central Kansas CASA typically hosts a movie night during April as part of National Child Abuse Prevention Month. That did not happen this year due to a lack of available titles, but Gregg said a family movie event is planned for the fall.
Central Kansas CASA serves and advocates for abused and neglected children in need of care as they go through the court system in Barton, Stafford, Rice, Russell, and Ellsworth Counties.
