The Kansas Wetlands Education Center's May WILD activity is a family tour of Cheyenne Bottoms on Sunday, May 1 from 5-6:30 p.m. This is peak migration season and shorebird numbers are phenomenal right now.
Meet at the center at 5 p.m. and either load in the KWEC van or follow in your own vehicle. Participants will get out at a number of spots to ID birds and walk some of the dike roads looking for insects, plants or even snakes. Wear closed-toed, sturdy shoes.
WILD is a monthly program that encourages school-age kids to get off their screens and out appreciating nature.
