Work will begin soon on resurfacing a 15-mile section of K-96 in Rush County, east of Rush Center.
The resurfacing will include a chip seal and other sealing work on K-96 from about a half mile east of U.S. 183, near Rush Center, east to the Barton County line.
The work is expected to start at the county line and move west toward Rush Center.
The project is tentatively expected to begin July 7 and be completed around July 24, depending on the weather.
During the work, traffic will be controlled by flaggers and a pilot car, and motorists should be prepared to stop and face delays of up to 15 minutes.
The Kansas Department of Transportation is overseeing the project.
Circle C Paving and Construction, of Goddard, is the primary contractor for the $687,652 project.
