Hoisington police make drug arrests this past weekend

On Saturday, Nov. 2 at 11 a.m., the Hoisington Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant at 322 N. Main Street in Hoisington. Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located.

Craig Redden, age 40 and Monica Demel, age 36, were arrested and booked into the Barton County jail for distribution of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, no drug tax stamp and aggravated endangerment of a child. The bond was set at $50,000.

On Sunday, Nov. 3 at 3 a.m., an officer with the Hoisington Police Department stopped a white Chevrolet Impala for speeding. The stop was made on Susank Road, near NE 120 Avenue.

The driver was Angela Osborne, age 47. There were two male passengers, Erick James, age 49 and Nicholas Arnet, age 38. Osborne was arrested for no interlock device and Arnet was arrested for a warrant out of Russell County.

During the stop, a Barton County K-9 officer arrived on the scene and the canine was deployed. The K-9 gave indication that narcotics were possibly inside the vehicle. A search netted the seizure of 89 grams of methamphetamine.

All three occupants were booked into Barton County Jail for possession of meth and distribution of meth with a bond of $50,000. Arnet was also charged with the no interlock and Russell County warrant.
