Man hospitalized after Pawnee Co. crash with a semi

PAWNEE COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 6:30p.m. Thursday in Pawnee County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2017 Mazda CX9 driven by Gabriel Reed Cowell, 26, Oxford, Mississippi, was westbound on K19 at 80th Avenue.

The vehicle traveled left of center into the eastbound lane. The Mazda and a 1999 Peterbilt semi driven by Mike Lynn Miller, 37, Stafford, collided. The Mazda rolled into the north ditch and came to rest on its roof.

EMS transported Cowell to Wesley Medical Center. Miller was not injured and not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
