KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — If anyone can commiserate with&nbsp;the Kansas City Chiefs on the difficult start&nbsp;they've endured this season, it just might be their opponent on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium: the Baltimore Ravens.

Two of the best teams in the AFC. Two teams accustomed to playing for the top seed in the playoffs. Two marquee quarterbacks, two of the league's premier coaches, and two teams with superstars on both sides of the ball.

Two teams that are 1-2 through the first three weeks of the season, too.

The Chiefs finally picked up their first win when they&nbsp;beat the Giants last week, after close losses to the Chargers in Brazil and the Eagles in a Super Bowl rematch. The Ravens lost a nailbiter to the Bills in Week 1, rebounded to beat the Browns, then gave up 17 points in the fourth quarter of&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/ravens-lions-score-df39af2bd400dcfa6e7e0da63898ae04">a 38-30 loss to the Lions</a>&nbsp;on Monday night.

“Nobody's playing perfect football. It's early in the season,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. “We're playing some good football teams. That's a good thing, because that forces you to be your best. You can't worry too much about any kind of record or anything like that at this point. It's a long season. A lot of games to be played. But what kind of team we become is really the important thing right now, and that's really what we're focused on.”

That's easy to say now. Might be a whole lot tougher should the Ravens be 1-3 by Sunday night.

Then again, the Chiefs could be staring at the same fate. They haven't lost three of their first four games in a decade, though in that case they bounced back from a 1-5 start in 2015 to run off 10 straight wins to finish the regular season, and added a playoff win over the Texans before finally losing again to the Patriots in the divisional round.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who wasn't even in the league yet back then, thinks that kind of turnaround has already started this season. Kansas City muddled through a pedestrian first half in New York last Sunday but hit its stride for the first time all season in the second half, ultimately pulling away for a 22-9 victory at the Meadowlands.

“Obviously there's things here and there we have to work on,” said Mahomes, who&nbsp;could have wide receiver Xavier Worthy back&nbsp;for the first time since Week 1, “but more than anything, the guys are putting in the work during the week.”

The Ravens and Chiefs are accustomed to playing games with high stakes, such as that 17-10 victory by Kansas City in the AFC title game in January 2024. And while there are still plenty of games left in the season, given the precarious record that both are carrying into Sunday's game, the stakes seem just as high as ever for their Week 4 matchup.

“You can’t bring what happened back whenever to this year. We’ve just have to lock in on what’s ahead right now,” Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson said. "Just getting better in practice, watching film on those guys, watching ourselves and scouting ourselves and just get after it come Sunday.”

The Chiefs acquired DeAndre Hopkins midway through last year, when they were thin at wide receiver, and he helped them reach the Super Bowl. Now with the Ravens, the erstwhile star has caught two TD passes already this season.

Ravens running back Derrick Henry looked vintage in Week 1 against Buffalo, when he ran for 169 yards and two scores. But he has been less effective since a big fumble late in that game. Henry has 73 yards rushing total the past two weeks, and he has put the ball on the ground in both of those games as well.

“I don’t try to harp on it too much,” Henry said of the fumbles. “At the same time, it’s a problem that’s got to be fixed.”

The Chiefs finally got their running game going in the second half against the Giants, and for the first time this season, Mahomes did not finish as their leading rusher. Isiah Pacheco ran 10 times for 45 yards and Kareem Hunt scored a touchdown.

The Ravens have struggled to stop the run this season, and it won't get any easier given the number of injuries they are dealing with up front. Defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike was ruled out early in the week with a neck injury, and linebacker Kyle Van Noy (hamstring) and defensive linemen Broderick Washington (ankle) and Travis Jones (knee) missed practice time.

Kansas City could be its healthiest since Week 1. Defensive end Mike Danna (quad), cornerback Kristian Fulton (ankle) and Worthy (shoulder) all returned to practice this week. The return of Worthy, who got hurt running into Travis Kelce in Week 1, would be an especially big lift for an offense that is still missing suspended wide receiver Rashee Rice.

“He feels good," Chiefs coach Andy Reid said, “so we'll see how it goes.”

Chiefs and Ravens face off in high-stakes showdown with both teams at 1-2

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Vinnie Pasquantino homered and drove in three runs, Bobby Witt Jr. had four hits and the Kansas City Royals beat the Los Angeles Angels 9-4 on Thursday night.

Michael Lorenzen (7-11) gave up two earned runs and five hits with a season-high nine strikeouts and no walks in 5 2/3 innings for the Royals.

Jo Adell, Nolan Schanuel and Mike Trout each homered for the Angels. Trout’s two-run shot — his 23rd of the season and 401st of his career — cut Kansas City's lead to 5-4 in eighth.

However, the Royals scored four in the top of the ninth, a rally highlighted by Salvador Perez’s two-out, three-run double off Angels reliever Sam Bachman, to pull away.

Mitch Farris (1-3) gave up four earned runs and five hits in five innings, striking out five and walking two, for the Angels, who have lost 11 of 13 games.

Pasquantino’s team-leading 32nd homer, a two-run shot to right field in the first, gave him a team-high 110 RBIs on the season. Adell pulled the Angels to 2-1 in the second with his team-high 37th homer.

Pasquantino had a run-scoring fielder’s choice in the third and Witt had an RBI double in the fifth to push the lead to 5-1.

Schanuel’s solo shot in the sixth brought the Angels back within two, but Adam Frazier’s pinch-hit RBI single in the eight made it 5-2.

Bachman was one strike away from escaping a bases-loaded jam in the ninth, but Perez hit a drive off the base of the center-field wall for his game-breaking hit.

The Angels struck out 13 times, bringing their major league-leading total to 1,603 — tied for fourth-most in major league history. With three games left, the Angels are 51 shy of Minnesota’s single-season record of 1,654 strikeouts, set in 2023.

Angels RHP Kyle Hendricks (8-10, 4.79 ERA) will start against Astros RHP Jason Alexander (4-2, 4.83 ERA) at home on Friday.

Royals LHP Noah Cameron (9-7, 2.90 ERA) will start against Athletics RHP Luis Morales (4-2, 3.07) on Friday.

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Bryson DeChambeau got this highly anticipated Ryder Cup off to a big start. The grandstands behind the first tee at Bethpage Black were filled in the Friday morning darkness. U.S. captain Keegan Bradley came out early to fire them up. But nothing did the trick quite like DeChambeau. He hit driver over the trees with a 344-shot just short of the green, and the Americans converted that into a birdie for an early lead. The foursomes matches in the morning are to be followed by fourballs in the afternoon. And in the middle was a visit by President Donald Trump.

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Jason Myers made a 52-yard field goal as time expired, Sam Darnold threw for 242 yards and a touchdown, and the Seattle Seahawks withstood a late rally by Kyler Murray and the Cardinals to beat Arizona 23-20. The Seahawks blew a 14-point fourth-quarter lead but still won their eighth straight over their NFC West rivals. The Cardinals trailed 20-6 midway through the fourth. Murray tied it with touchdown passes to Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emari Demercado, but left enough time on the clock for Darnold, who hit Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 22-yard gain to get into Myers' range.

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Marvin Harrison Jr. soared above a defensive back, snagged the ball at the high point and pulled it down for a key touchdown in Arizona’s comeback attempt. The Cardinals’ second-year receiver didn’t celebrate, opting instead to kneel with an arm over the front of his helmet before jogging off the field. After the first half he had, Harrison seemed more relieved than excited about pulling down a highlight-reel touchdown. Harrison caught a touchdown pass and had a pair of key catches on Arizona’s final drive, but also bobbled a pass that led to a first-half interception in the Cardinals’ 23-20 loss to the Seattle Seahawks

The matches get underway on Friday with Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Thomas in the opening foursomes session against fiery Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton. DeChambeau says the idea is to send a message. A late first half strike wasn't enough for the No. 9 Barton Community College men's soccer team Wednesday night on the road, as No. 4 Cowley College answered with two second half goals to claim a 2-1 victory in the showdown of top-10 teams in Arkansas City.

The result drops the Cougars at 2-2-0 in conference play and 5-3-1 overall while the Tigers remain unbeaten at 3-0-0 in the Jayhawk and 5-0-0 on the year. Barton will look to halt a two-match skid on Friday with an 11:00 a.m. kickoff against No. 14 Otero College at Garden City's Broncbuster Stadium before returning home Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. match against Coffeyville at Cavanaugh Field in Great Bend.

Barton struck first just before the half as&nbsp;Gabriel Henrique's long ball drew the Cowley keeper off his line. A deflection inside the box sent the ball trickling back toward goal, where&nbsp;Rafael Calmon's pressure helped it trickle into the open net.

The Tigers responded almost immediately after the break, leveling the match just 49 seconds into the second frame. Kanta Ishii's midfield free kick found the head of Omar Ocampos inside the box to make it 1-1.

The match turned in the 73rd minute on a 25-yard free kick by Yushin Nakano that caught the Cougars still organizing its defensive wall. Without a restart whistle, Nakano slotted his strike into the unguarded net for the game-winner.

Barton's Potter named week five conference and national Women's Soccer Division I Player of the Week

Angel Sainz&nbsp;of the 9th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team has been named the week five KJCCC Division I Offensive Player of the Week.

Sainz etched his name into program history last Thursday, scoring all four goals in the Cougars' 4–0 road victory at Lamar Community College.

The freshman became just the sixth Cougar in now the 25th year of the program to score four goals in a match, finishing one shy of Harry Newman's single-game record of five set in 2009. The performance also placed him among the top four in program history for most points in a single contest.

Sainz struck twice in each half, opening the scoring in the 27th minute off week three player of the week&nbsp;Masaki Tsuji's team-leading third assist before adding an unassisted tally seven minutes before halftime. He picked up where he left off in the second half, converting at the 71st minute from a feed by&nbsp;Kotaro Kimura, then completing the haul two minutes later on&nbsp;Higor Prestes' first collegiate assist.

Most recently, Sainz and the Cougars dropped a 2-1 decision Sunday at now 12th ranked Dodge City Community College, snapping Barton's four-game winning streak.

Barton's Sainz hauls in week five KJCCC Player of the Week honor

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Taylor Ward homered, Kenley Jansen earned his 475th career save and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Kansas City Royals 3-2 on Wednesday night to avoid a series sweep.

Yusei Kikuchi (7-11) gave up just one hit while striking out six over five innings. He was removed with a left forearm cramp before the sixth. Jansen struck out two in the ninth for his 28th save of the season.

Luis Rengifo doubled and scored on Oswald Peraza's groundout in the second inning for a 1-0 lead. Ward added a 320-foot solo home run in the third to became one of just three MLB players this season with at least 35 homers, 100 RBIs and 30 doubles.

Royals' starter Stephen Kolek (5-7) went six innings, giving up three runs on five hits while striking out two. In the fourth, Kolek tried to cut down Peraza at second, but his throw sailed wide of second baseman Jonathan India, allowing Peraza to score for a 3-0 lead.

Randal Grichuk's homer in the fifth was the only hit given up Kikuchi.

Carter Jensen scored to bring the Royals within a run of Los Angeles in the seventh inning.

The Angels entered the night with the worst save percentage (51%) in the majors and the highest bullpen ERA in the AL at 4.87. Los Angeles won for just the second time in its last 12 games.

Second baseman Christian Moore laid out for a diving stop, then fired to first for the third out of the seventh, preserving the Angels’ 3–2 lead.

The Barton Community College women's golf team captured its third straight victory of the 2025-26 season, rolling to a 33-stroke win Monday at the Central Plains Invitational held at Newton's Sand Creek Station Golf Course.

Condensed into one day due to Tuesday's weather forecast, the Cougars opened with a 28-over 316 before heating up in the afternoon for an 11-over 299 — their second sub-300 round of the season and third in program history. Barton finished at +39, 615, comfortably ahead of Park University (+72, 648) and Baker University (+77, 653).

Demonstrating the depth of the lineup, Barton crowned its third different medalist in as many tournaments as&nbsp;Chomchanok Laparojkit&nbsp;won by five strokes over the 41-player field. After a 2-over 74 in the morning, the sophomore fired three birdies on the back nine for a season-best even-par 72, finishing at +2, 146.

Last week's medalist&nbsp;Suri Rocha Orozco&nbsp;overcame a tough start, losing her opening tee shot in the fog for a triple bogey on the way to a 78. She rebounded in the afternoon with four birdies and just one double bogey to post 75, climbing into 3rd place at +9, 153.

Two more Cougars landed inside the top ten, led by&nbsp;Giovanna Tabanag, who followed an 83 with a collegiate-best 3-over 75 to finish 6th at +14, 158.&nbsp;Panalee Prachavittayagon&nbsp;carded an opening 82 after battling a triple and quadruple bogey but steadied her play in the afternoon with a 77, tying for 7th at +15, 159.

Meet one champion&nbsp;Diana Alvarado&nbsp;narrowly missed the top ten, posting consistent rounds of 82 and 80 to finish 11th at +18, 162.

Barton women's golf rolls to third straight victory, Laparojkit becomes third Cougar to capture title

Coming off a bye week that began when Kansas State head coach&nbsp;Chris Klieman&nbsp;and his coaching staff "dissected everything" and made some adjustments while the team practiced on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday last week, Klieman and the Wildcats are attempting to hit reset on an unfortunate start to their season.

K-State is 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the Big 12 Conference after losses to No. 22 Iowa State (24-21), Army (24-21) and most recently at Arizona (23-17) on September 12 in Tucson, Arizona.

It's a stark difference from recent history at K-State, as the Wildcats entered 2025 as one of 10 Power 4 schools to win at least nine games in each of the last three seasons.

Klieman, in his seventh season as K-State head coach, won Division I National Championships at North Dakota State prior to arriving in Manhattan and establishing four core values —&nbsp;Discipline, Commitment, Toughness and Be Selfless —&nbsp;that beam across the videoboards at Bill Snyder Family Stadium daily. K-State, coming off a 9-4 season and seemingly carrying an abundance of talent, in the preseason was a popular pick among college football experts to make a run at representing the Big 12 in the College Football Playoff.

Virtually nobody in college football saw this coming.

"It sucks," Klieman said at his weekly news conference on Monday. "Let's be honest. We all know it does. We've got to dig ourselves out of it. There's no reason for me to point fingers. I mean, it is what it is. We've got to figure this out."&nbsp; 

Now K-State prepares for its Big 12 home opener Saturday at 11:00 a.m. against UCF, 3-0, which rides a 16-game winning streak with head coach Scott Frost on the sideline, and that most recently throttled Bill Belichick and North Carolina, 34-9, last Saturday in Orlando, Florida.

"There's good football teams out there, and we've got a bunch of them we're going to play, including this week, and always in this league you're going to be in dogfights, and it's going to be a lot of one-score games," Klieman said. "We have to dig deep and find a way to win those one-score games."

K-State's four one-score games this season currently lead the FBS.

Ten of K-State's last 16 games dating back to Week 2 of the 2024 season have been decided by just one score.

The difference between 2024 and the start of 2025 is striking.

Last year, K-State went 4-2 in one-possession games. All four of the victories were fourth-quarter comebacks, which ranked second in the nation.

This year, K-State has played in four one-possession games but has only come out on the winning side once — in a 38-35 win over North Dakota.

"The optimism would say, 'We've been within a score of every loss we have,'" Klieman said. "That's easy to say, but we're not playing well enough to win those games. We haven't earned those wins. We've earned the loss. Because we haven't played well enough, we lose by three points or six points. We have to do some things and find some things to win those games and earn those wins.

"That's where we're all — meaning fans, players and coaches — are frustrated, because we all feel we're better than what we're showing. But you better act upon it. Words are one thing, but you have to act upon it. You have to go whip that guy across from you one-on-one, and that's what we're not doing right now."&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 

Klieman lamented how K-State, which ranks 131st&nbsp;in time of possession, has been unsuccessful in areas on both sides of the ball. K-State ranks 122nd&nbsp;in first downs and 96th&nbsp;in preventing opponent first downs. K-State also ranks 120th&nbsp;in third-down conversion percentage and 76th&nbsp;in third-down defensive conversion percentage.

"We're not winning on early downs on defense, and we're not winning on early downs on offense," Klieman said. "We've got to win on early downs. That's the emphasis we talked about last week and that we're putting in this week with even some good-on-good first-down competition. Let's see who can win and get it to second-and-long or second-and-manageable. Those are things collectively we're not doing on either side."

Klieman said that he kept first-year offensive coordinator&nbsp;Matt Wells&nbsp;and sixth-year defensive coordinator&nbsp;Joe Klanderman&nbsp;in Manhattan when coaches left to recruit last weekend.

"Friday, Saturday and Sunday, some of (the coaches) were out recruiting, but I kept Coach Klanderman and Coach Wells around because I wanted those guys to continue to meet with me and with the quality-control staff," Klieman said, "because some of the things we're doing we need to tweak from a coaching standpoint, technique, and whatever it may be, and some of it is personnel."

Klieman said: "The guys have to dust themselves off and get off the deck and play better football. Some of it is us as coaches trying to simplify some things."&nbsp; 

On the field, Klieman expects better enthusiasm as well.

"When you look at the film, regardless of the outcome, we played with our hair on fire against Iowa State, and they got us by a field goal," Klieman said, "but I didn't see that same fire the (other) weeks, and we need to get back to that, and we need to emphasize it and do it at practice.

"You're not going to turn a switch on Saturday."&nbsp;&nbsp;

"Let's be honest. We all know it does. We've got to dig ourselves out of it. There's no reason for me to point fingers. I mean, it is what it is. We've got to figure this out."&nbsp; Now K-State prepares for its Big 12 home opener Saturday at 11:00 a.m. against UCF, 3-0, which rides a 16-game winning streak with head coach Scott Frost on the sideline, and that most recently throttled Bill Belichick and North Carolina, 34-9, last Saturday in Orlando, Florida."There's good football teams out there, and we've got a bunch of them we're going to play, including this week, and always in this league you're going to be in dogfights, and it's going to be a lot of one-score games," Klieman said. "We have to dig deep and find a way to win those one-score games."K-State's four one-score games this season currently lead the FBS.Ten of K-State's last 16 games dating back to Week 2 of the 2024 season have been decided by just one score.The difference between 2024 and the start of 2025 is striking.Last year, K-State went 4-2 in one-possession games. All four of the victories were fourth-quarter comebacks, which ranked second in the nation.This year, K-State has played in four one-possession games but has only come out on the winning side once — in a 38-35 win over North Dakota."The optimism would say, 'We've been within a score of every loss we have,'" Klieman said. "That's easy to say, but we're not playing well enough to win those games. We haven't earned those wins. We've earned the loss. Because we haven't played well enough, we lose by three points or six points. We have to do some things and find some things to win those games and earn those wins."That's where we're all — meaning fans, players and coaches — are frustrated, because we all feel we're better than what we're showing. But you better act upon it. Words are one thing, but you have to act upon it. You have to go whip that guy across from you one-on-one, and that's what we're not doing right now."&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Klieman lamented how K-State, which ranks 131st&nbsp;in time of possession, has been unsuccessful in areas on both sides of the ball. K-State ranks 122nd&nbsp;in first downs and 96th&nbsp;in preventing opponent first downs. K-State also ranks 120th&nbsp;in third-down conversion percentage and 76th&nbsp;in third-down defensive conversion percentage."We're not winning on early downs on defense, and we're not winning on early downs on offense," Klieman said. "We've got to win on early downs. That's the emphasis we talked about last week and that we're putting in this week with even some good-on-good first-down competition. Let's see who can win and get it to second-and-long or second-and-manageable. Those are things collectively we're not doing on either side."Klieman said that he kept first-year offensive coordinator&nbsp;Matt Wells&nbsp;and sixth-year defensive coordinator&nbsp;Joe Klanderman&nbsp;in Manhattan when coaches left to recruit last weekend."Friday, Saturday and Sunday, some of (the coaches) were out recruiting, but I kept Coach Klanderman and Coach Wells around because I wanted those guys to continue to meet with me and with the quality-control staff," Klieman said, "because some of the things we're doing we need to tweak from a coaching standpoint, technique, and whatever it may be, and some of it is personnel."Klieman said: "The guys have to dust themselves off and get off the deck and play better football. Some of it is us as coaches trying to simplify some things."&nbsp; On the field, Klieman expects better enthusiasm as well."When you look at the film, regardless of the outcome, we played with our hair on fire against Iowa State, and they got us by a field goal," Klieman said, "but I didn't see that same fire the (other) weeks, and we need to get back to that, and we need to emphasize it and do it at practice."You're not going to turn a switch on Saturday."&nbsp;&nbsp;

Kansas (3-1, 1-0 Big 12) welcomes Cincinnati (3-0, 0-0) after a convincing 41-10 victory over West Virginia in the Jayhawks' Big 12 opener. The Kansas defense forced eight West Virginia punts – the most forced by the Jayhawks in a conference game since 2017—and surrendered just 10 points, the fewest allowed in a conference game since 2007.

The Kansas defense has been on display in all three games at the new David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, allowing just 24 points in three total games, and outscoring opponents 118-24 over the three contests.

Linebacker&nbsp;Trey Lathan&nbsp;had another standout performance against West Virginia with three tackles, one sack and an interception he returned 32 yards. Lathan, a West Virginia transfer, is leading the team with 28 tackles and 4.5 tackles-for-loss, along with a pair of pass breakups. Defensive end&nbsp;Dean Miller&nbsp;also had a strong game against the Mountaineers, collecting his first sack of the season, and adding seven tackles and another .5 tackle-for-loss. Defensive tackle&nbsp;Blake Herold&nbsp;also shined with seven tackles, one tackle-for-loss and a fumble recovery.

Offensively, quarterback&nbsp;Jalon Daniels&nbsp;continued his hot start to the season, tossing three touchdown passes, rushing for 69 yards and not committing any turnovers in the win over the Mountaineers. Daniels now has 12 touchdown passes to just two interceptions on the season, while throwing for 817 yards and rushing for another 159. Daniels' 12 passing touchdowns are the third most in the country through four games.&nbsp;Levi Wentz,&nbsp;Boden Groen&nbsp;and&nbsp;Leshon Williams&nbsp;all caught their first touchdown passes of the season on Saturday, while Williams, an Iowa transfer, also rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown.

The Jayhawks will face a rested Bearcats team that is coming off an open week and hasn't played since a dominant 70-0 win over Northwestern State on Sept. 13. The Bearcats are 2-1 overall on the year, dropping their season opener against Nebraska, before responding with wins against Bowling Green and Northwestern State.

Jayhawks Welcome Bearcats for 2nd Straight Conference Home Game

The Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens entered the season with Super Bowl-or-bust goals.

One of them will be 1-3, unless they tie this week.

Coming off a&nbsp;38-30 loss&nbsp;at home to Detroit on Monday night, Baltimore will travel to Kansas City to face the Chiefs on Sunday in a matchup that’s critical for both teams.

The 2001 New England Patriots are the only team to start 1-3 and win the Super Bowl.

It’ll be a difficult challenge for the losing team to rebound.

“I feel like the way we performed was a hole; a huge hole, but it’s still the beginning of the season,” Lamar Jackson said after the Lions sacked him seven times. “We have a lot of work to do, and we just have to execute.”

Per NFL research, the Jackson-Mahomes matchup will be the first between multiple-time MVP QBs in which each enters the game with a losing record that season. It will also be the first matchup between multi-time MVP QBs with a combined record under .500.

Only six teams in the conference have a winning record, including just three playoff teams from last season: Bills (3-0), Chargers (3-0) and Steelers (2-1).

In the NFC, all seven 2024 playoff teams have winning records plus three other clubs.

It’s too early for any team to panic except for the two-time defending AFC South champion Texans (0-3). Houston is in a tough spot with Indianapolis (3-0) and Jacksonville (2-1) both playing well.

Despite a daunting road ahead, Baltimore still has the second-best odds to win the Super Bowl behind Philadelphia, according to Bet MGM Sportsbook.

The Bills currently have the best odds while the Eagles (3-0) and Packers (2-1) are tied for third. Somehow, Philadelphia’s odds dropped even though the Eagles are undefeated.

The NFL trade deadline isn’t until Nov. 4 but teams may want to call the New York Giants about Russell Wilson or Jameis Winston now that rookie&nbsp;Jaxson Dart&nbsp;is the guy.

The Bengals were 4-3 with Jake Browning in 2023 and he led them to a comeback victory after Joe Burrow was hurt in Week 2. But the Bengals are coming off the worst loss in franchise history, 48-10 to Minnesota.

Browning is familiar with Zac Taylor’s offense but Wilson could be productive throwing to Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. He had 450 yards against the Cowboys in Week 2.

Jalen Hurts had zero touchdown passes in the first 10 quarters this season before the Eagles fell behind the Rams by 19 points and the offense opened up.

He completed 17 of 24 passes for 209 yards and 3 TDs in the second half to help Philadelphia earn a 33-26 win secured by Jordan Davis’ blocked field goal.

Why was the passing attack stagnant before the second half?

“We want to be the aggressive person, right? The word this past week for the offense of when I spoke to the offense was ‘attack,’” offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo said. “We want to be in attack mode and going into the game, that was what we wanted to do. The first drive was a good drive. We went for it on fourth down, we threw the ball down into the red zone at the goal lines. We were in an attack mode.

“We got stuck in those weird situations where we just couldn’t get it out of there and get it going. And then the second half, obviously, we had to play a little bit differently, but we were able to get it going."

Texans rookie wide receivers Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel became close friends at Iowa State and their tight-knit relationship has only grown stronger since Houston selected Higgins in the second round of the NFL draft and Noel in the third.

The rookies&nbsp;love to fish&nbsp;so they started the “J&amp;JFishinn” TikTok channel in college. They’ve got bigger priorities right now adjusting to life in the NFL but still plan to go fishing when they can.

Higgins has four catches for 65 yards while Noel has two receptions for 11 yards in the first three games.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Bobby Witt Jr. and Adam Frazier each drove in two runs, Salvador Perez moved into second place on Kansas City's career RBI list and the Royals beat the Los Angeles Angels 8-4 on Tuesday night, shortly after being eliminated from postseason contention.

The Royals (79-78) were knocked out of the race for an AL wild card with five games remaining in their regular season. Kansas City, which reached the playoffs last season, has failed to qualify for the postseason in nine of the last 10 seasons.

Perez singled to center in the first inning to score Witt. It was the 35-year-old catcher's 97th RBI of the season and 1,013th of his career, moving him past Hal McRae. The Royals' all-time RBI leader is George Brett with 1,596.
