
A limited Barton Community College women's golf squad opened its 2026-27 season Monday, competing in the two-day Carmichael Cup wrapping up Tuesday at Salina Municipal Golf Course.
Sophomore Panalee Prachavittayagon led Barton's three-player contingent with a runner-up finish in the 45-player field, carding consecutive rounds of 76 for a 12-over 152 total.
Alexandria Hunt shaved two strokes off her opening round with a final-round 78 to climb into a tie for 10th, finishing at 18-over 158. Zarmina Khan rounded out the Cougar entries in her collegiate debut, posting matching rounds of 88 to tie for 24th at 36-over 176.
The Cougars return to the links next Monday, competing in the 12th Annual Central Kansas Classic at Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson.
