KANSAS CITY —A Kansas City man faces multiple felony charges for the fatal shooting last month of a man who officers found in a vacant lot after being shot multiple times, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.
Tamon Daniel, 31, faces Murder in the 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.
According to court records, on Nov. 28, 2023, officers for the Kansas City Police Department were dispatched to a reported shooting on the eastern side of Kansas City.
Officers found Daniel at an intersection. He had waved officers down, put his hands up, then he laid down and put his arms behind his back. Officers placed him in handcuffs. Residents directed officers to the victim, who was located in a vacant lot, deceased after being shot multiple times. A witness stated a man armed with a rifle fired at him and the deceased victim through the windshield of the car they were sitting in.
Police found no firearms in or around the victim's vehicle or the deceased victim.
