Barton Volleyball tabbed third in the Jayhawk West

The Barton Community College volleyball team has been tabbed to finish third in the Jayhawk West Conference for the upcoming 2020-21 season according to the league member coaches' voting.

Finishing second in the KJCCC last season, the Cougars had their year come to an end in the Region VI Semifinals concluding the campaign at 24-12.

Returning a pair of sophomores in Madison Armstrong and Victoria O'Keefe, both of which saw heavy court time a season ago, second year head coach Alan Segal will be relying heavily on his twelve newcomers this spring, including six from the sunflower state.

Barton will toss the ball up on Friday, January 20th in the Hesston Classic with matches against Southeast Community College and host school Hesston. The Lady Cougars open the home slate on January 25th against preseason favorite Seward County Community College.

Following last year's NJCAA runner-up finish the Saints of Seward County has been tabbed the conference favorite with Colby Community College predicted just in-front of the Cougars with Hutchinson Community College in the fourth slot.

As per conference regulations, no fans will be allowed in attendance until at least February 5th. The Barton Sports Network, the live streaming avenue of Barton Athletic events, will be streaming all home events with most opponents also live streaming.
