Bat Cats split twinbill with Rose Hill

The Great Bend Bat Cats split their Monday double header at Rose Hill, winning game one by the score of 5-1 while dropping the nightcap 10-2.

In the first game, Hunter Murray pitched five strong innings while Collin Meinert went 3-4 with 2 rbi's to help Great Bend to the victory. Alex Rogers went 2-3 with 2 double's and scored three times.

In game two, Great Bend trailed 3-2 heading to the bottom of the fifth but the Sluggers scored two runs in the fifth, one in the seventh, then broke the game open by scoring four runs in the eighth.

The two teams wrap up their four game series Tuesday at 5 pm at Eck Stadium in Wichita in the first of two Sunflower Collegiate League showcase games.

Great Bend is now 4-5 overall and 3-3 in league play. Rose Hill is 4-2 with all the Sluggers games coming in league contests.
