SEWARD COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities in southwest Kansas have notified the public of fentanyl located in the city of Liberal, according a a media release from the Liberal Police Department.
Law enforcement learned that fentanyl is being mixed with a multitude of other drugs including meth, cocaine, Xylazine and the manufacture of counterfeit prescription drugs that are packaged to look like the original drug.
On Dec. 11, police executed a search warrant in the 700 Block of East Spruce Street in Liberal as part of an ongoing death investigation. Officers located approximately 2 pounds of fentanyl, fentanyl test strips, ledgers, scales and baggies.
A lethal dose of fentanyl is considered to be 2 mg. Police seized an amount that had the potential to provide 500,000 fatal doses.
