KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting at Crown Center in Kansas City that injured multiple people.
Just after 5:30p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a report of gunfire in the lower level near the food court, according to Sergeant Jake Becchina.
A preliminary investigation indicated 3-4 people were struck by gunfire after a disturbance between two groups turned into gunfire.
Police later learned three additional victims showed up on their own at other hospitals. That brings the total number of shooting victims to six. The ages of all but one victim range from late teens to early 20s the other one is in their 50s
Crime Scene Investigators and detectives responded to process the scene and speak to witnesses.
Several people were detained for questioning at the scene, Becchina said, but police have not yet announced any arrests.
