SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a bank robbery in Wichita have identified the suspect and he was arrested in Meade County, Wichita Police Spokesman Andrew Ford reported Thursday morning. Police have not released his name.
Just before 11:30a.m. Wednesday, a suspect entered the Wells Fargo Bank, 455 South West Street in Wichita, according to Ford. The suspect, described as a white male between 50 and 60-years-old with long gray hair and a black and white beard, announced the robbery to a teller and demanded money.
The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash and he fled the business in an unknown direction. The suspect indicated he had a weapon, but one was not displayed. The suspect was wearing black sunglasses and a blue jean jacket. .
The Wichita Police crime lab collected evidence and the FBI is in charge of the investigation.
