Explore the history of Barton County with a visit to the Barton County Historical Society Museum and Village on Highway 281, south of the river bridge, Great Bend. Summer hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 1 until 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. If you’re not a historical society member, now is a good time to join. There are levels for life members, benefactors, contributors, family and individual members. The museum and village are south of the river bridge, on Highway 281, Great Bend.
