KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a man's murder.
Just after 12a.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to 400 block of NW 88th St. on a reported prowler call, according to Police Captain Corey Carlisle.
At the scene, officers located a man in the rear of the residence. Officers detained this individual prompting further investigation.
After preliminary investigations, detectives were directed to a residence in the 400 block of NW 88th Terrace and were given access by the occupants of the home.
Officers then discovered an man later identified a 56=year-old Daniel T. Lainson who was unresponsive and suffering from apparent bodily trauma. EMS responded and pronounced him deceased.
Police have a subject of interest in custody. The circumstances surrounding the homicide are unknown.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Personnel also responded to the scene to process the scene and to recover any evidence and speak to any potential witnesses.
