Kansas man dies after jeep strikes KDOT sign, overturns

SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Kansas man died in an accident just after 12:30a.m. Monday in Sedgwick County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2020 Jeep Wrangler driven by Jason W. Sutcliffe, 44, Valley Center, was northbound on Interstate 135 at the Interstate 235-Kansas 96 interchange in the left lane.

The jeep left the roadway to the left, struck a KDOT construction sign, a guardrail and overturned.

Sutcliffe was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Sedgwick County Forensics Center. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
