Kan. deputy saw drug paraphernalia in car during traffic stop

JACKSON COUNTY –Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on drug allegations.

Just after 1a.m. Dec. 31, a Deputy Sheriff conducted a traffic stop on a white passenger car for a traffic violation in the vicinity of 126th and U.S. Highway 75, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

During the stop, the deputy observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. A probable cause search was conducted where methamphetamine, a hallucinogenic drug and drug paraphernalia were located.

Christopher James Clinton, 41, of Topeka, was arrested on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hallucinogenic drug and drug paraphernalia. Clinton remains in the Jackson County Jail, according to online records.
