SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal shooting and have made an arrest.

Just before 8:30 p.m. Thursday, police were dispatched to a shooting at a home in the the 1300 Block of SW Garfield Ave. in Topeka, according to Police Lt. Edward Stanley.

First responders found one individual with life threatening injuries. EMS transported the victim to local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Following an investigation, police took a 14-year-old boy from Topeka,&nbsp; to the Shawnee County Juvenile Department of Corrections on requested charges of Murder in the 2nd Degree, according to Stanley.
