Since 2019, some 1,800 local Methodist churches have decided to disaffiliate from the main United Methodist church. Those impacts have reached Barton County. June 30 marked the final day for the Immanuel United Church of Christ and Ellinwood United Methodist Church (UMC). A Sunday-morning service on July 2 marked the birth of the Ellinwood Community Church (ECC). 

"At the beginning of this year, the Methodist church made some changes within," said ECC Committee Member Nancy Baird. "We knew we were losing our pastor at the end of June due to that. Our congregation has just gotten smaller, and our building requires a lot of expensive upkeep. We had a direct lightning strike nearly three years ago and that really damaged our building in some structural ways."

Tom Reazin was the minister of the Ellinwood UMC. He will transition to being pastor of the new non-denominational Ellinwood Community Church.

"We're welcoming everyone to join us for fellowship," Baird said. "We feel like our worship service will have something to offer for everyone. It's taking two smaller churches and becoming one large congregation. We are just hoping this was God's path to grow something new in our community."

ECC services will be held each Sunday morning at 9:15 at the church located at 7th and Fritz in Ellinwood. Baird is excited about what the new church can mean for area residents.

"Maybe it will excite people," she said. "Maybe they'll come and see what we have to offer. Our whole goal is to grow as a new church and do mission work throughout our community."

Two churches merge to form new Ellinwood Community Church

Justin W. Hammond, 39 of Larned, Kansas, appeared on bond June 30, 2023, before Pawnee County District Judge Bruce Gatterman for post-trial motions and felony sentencing.

A Pawnee County Jury found Hammond Guilty on March 10, 2023, of four counts of Aggravated Indecent Liberty with a Child, to wit: sexual intercourse with a child 14 or 15 years of age, and one count of Indecent Liberties with a Child, to wit: lewd fondling of child 14 or 15 years of age, following a five-day trial.

The crimes were alleged to have occurred in Pawnee County between July 8, 2018, and December 15, 2018.  The Kansas Bureau of Investigation handled the investigation following a referral by the Pawnee County Sheriff.

At the sentencing, the State requested Hammond be sentenced to two consecutive aggravated 61 month prison sentences, the maximum allowed by law based on the defendant’s lack of criminal history.  Defense counsel requested a probationary sentence.  The defendant declined the opportunity to make a statement to the Court due to pending similar charges in Wyandotte County.  After hearing the arguments of counsel, Judge Gatterman denied the defense request for probation and sentenced Hammond on the primary offense to the standard sentence of 59 months with an additional 37 month consecutive sentence on the additional counts for a total sentence of 96 months in the department of corrections.  Hammond will also be subject to lifetime post-release supervision and lifetime offender registration as a sex offender.

Following sentencing, the Court denied the defense request to stay the sentence pending appeal.  Hammond was immediately remanded into the custody of the Pawnee County Sheriff for his eventual delivery to the Kansas Department of Corrections.

Prior to sentencing, the Court denied the defense motion for a new trial.

Pawnee County Attorney Douglas McNett presented the State’s case at trial.  Hammond was represented by Jonathon McConnell of Wichita, Kansas.

Larned man sentenced to 96 months in jail for indecent liberties with a child

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), Office of the State Fire Marshal and Safe Kids Kansas would like to share some important safety tips to ensure that all Kansans have a safe and fun Independence Day this year.

In 2022, there were a total of 102 injuries caused by fireworks in Kansas.&nbsp;The person igniting the firework was most likely to be injured,&nbsp;and the hands were the most common body part to be injured.&nbsp;Over half of the injuries that occurred from fireworks that happened on July Fourth were from burns. There was a 43 percent decrease in reported injuries from 2021.

Each age group saw a decrease except for a slight increase in 0-3 year-olds. The highest incidents of injuries were caused by mortars or artillery fireworks and other fireworks like parachutes, fountains and spinning items. We encourage parents to let their little ones use glow sticks instead of sparklers and leave the rest to grownups.”

Grilling is another favorite part of many summertime gatherings. Make sure grills are used outdoors only, away from the home and deck railings, and out from under eaves and overhanging branches. Keep children and pets away from the grill area and never leave your grill unattended. Clean your grill regularly to prevent grease fires.

“We want everyone to have a fun and safe celebration on Independence Day,”&nbsp;Doug Jorgensen, state fire marshal, said. &nbsp;“Taking a few simple precautions if you’re lighting off fireworks or grilling can ensure that your family and friends are safe and injury free this fourth of July. If possible, go to a public fireworks display, and let the trained professionals handle the risks.”

Here are some tips to keep your celebrations safe:

Bottle rockets are illegal and M80 type of “fireworks” are considered explosives, and it is a felony in Kansas to possess, manufacture or use, as well as being extremely dangerous. The use or sale of these banned fireworks and explosives is considered a crime under Kansas law. It is also illegal in Kansas to shoot fireworks on or under any vehicle, on any public roadway, within 50 feet of a fireworks stand or where fireworks are stored, and at gas stations or any place liquid gas – including propane – is stored.

Always refer to the local ordinances as to whether fireworks are allowed in your area as well as what types.&nbsp; Some cities or counties have restricted dates/times or types of fireworks that may be sold or discharged.

In addition, out of respect for veterans when it comes to the individual discharge of fireworks, please keep in mind the noise and stress (PTSD) your activities may cause near VA facilities.

KINGMAN COUNTY—Three people were injured in an accident just before 4p.m. Monday in Kingman County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2023&nbsp; Peterbilt semi driven by&nbsp; 39-year-old Daniel&nbsp;Esparza-Ramirez was eastbound on U.S. 54 seven miles west of Kingman.

The semi rear-ended a 2020 Ram 2500 driven by Jose Manuel&nbsp;Bugarini, 23, Great Bend, who was slowing to make a right turn.

EMS transported&nbsp;Bugarini and passengers in the pickup identified as Fernando&nbsp;Barrera, 30 and Mario&nbsp; Martinez, 24, both of Great Bend to Pratt Regional Medical Center.&nbsp; The KHP did not have complete seat belt usage information or additional details on Esparza-Ramirez. He was not injured.&nbsp;

3 from Great Bend hospitalized after semi-rear ends pickup

Before Code Enforcement Supervisor Art Keffer could present his list of
abatements before the Great Bend City Council Monday night, he was thrown a
number of questions about the procedure on how his department handles property
violations. 

Councilmember Alan Moeder led the conversation, questioning how
some properties get written up for overgrown vegetation or trash and refuse
violations and other lots do not. Moeder specifically referenced the property
at 1515 Tyler Street and its absence on the abatement list. "You can't even see the front porch on the Tyler Street property," said Moeder. "The two-car driveway is covered half with weeds and trees. The city needs to cut trees in the easement again because the neighbors' vehicles are brushing the trees when they drive in the alley. I don't understand this abatement thing. These need to get straightened out or thrown out the window." 
While the code enforcement does patrol parts of the city when time allows, a
good portion of ordinance violations are received from citizen complaints.

"If I was neighbor over there, and they're complaining to me all the time...it's affecting their property value," said Moeder. "I wouldn't buy a house next to that the way it looks. You guys go by 1515 Tyler, it's embarrassing."

Last
November, Logan Burns was approved to become Great Bend Assistant City
Administrator and oversee the code enforcement department. Burns served as
Interim City Administrator since December when Kendal Francis announced his
resignation. Now that Brandon Anderson has started his role as City
Administrator in July, councilmember Jolene Biggs was hopeful Burns will
oversee improvements to the city’s abatement process. "He (Burns) oversees that, and I think there has been discussion of looking at that program and bringing something back," said Biggs. 
Keffer noted between April 17 and May 15, the code
enforcement department wrote up 197 properties. By the end of May, 175 of those
cases were taken care of or closed.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Administrator and oversee the code enforcement department. Burns served as
Interim City Administrator since December when Kendal Francis announced his
resignation. Now that Brandon Anderson has started his role as City
Administrator in July, councilmember Jolene Biggs was hopeful Burns will
oversee improvements to the city’s abatement process. "He (Burns) oversees that, and I think there has been discussion of looking at that program and bringing something back," said Biggs. 
Keffer noted between April 17 and May 15, the code
enforcement department wrote up 197 properties. By the end of May, 175 of those
cases were taken care of or closed.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Great Bend councilmembers adamant on abatement changes

Susan Nelson, clinical professor at the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.ksvhc.org/" target="_blank">Veterinary Health Center</a>&nbsp;in the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.vet.k-state.edu/" target="_blank">College of Veterinary Medicine</a>, said one of the best things you can do is to keep your pet indoors at all times and keep them under leash control when you do need to take them outside. "The sound of fireworks can make some pets run off in an attempt to get away from the noise," Nelson said. "This is the time of year with the highest incidences of runaway pets, so be sure to keep them secure!" In addition to the risk of getting lost if they run away, Nelson said there is also the risk of your pet being hit by a car, as their fear of fireworks will make them less observant of oncoming traffic. She advises pet owners to ensure their pet has some type of ID, such as a tag and/or microchip — ideally both, as tags can get lost and microchips can sometimes stop working or get missed on a scan — in case the pet gets lost. Nelson said keeping your pet inside also keeps it safe from people who may try to harm an animal with fireworks. Keeping your dogs in the safe confines of their crates or a secure room is all that is needed to make some dogs feel less anxious. Be sure to close the blinds or use heavy curtains to block out the flashes of light. Nelson offers some tips for helping pets cope with their fear of the loud bangs, whistles and crackles that come with the holiday, including: • Play soothing music or turn on the TV or white noise machine to attempt to block out the noise. • Distract from the noise and commotion with food puzzles and stuffed Kongs.&nbsp;

•&nbsp;Try&nbsp;an anxiety wrap specially made for pets to&nbsp;help&nbsp;calm those with mild anxiety, or&nbsp;use&nbsp;the wrap&nbsp;in addition to medications&nbsp;for&nbsp;those with moderate to severe noise phobias. • Use&nbsp;over-the-counter supplements made for anxious pets&nbsp;to&nbsp;benefit those with mild to moderate noise anxiety. Some insect repellants are not safe for your pets, either, Nelson said. "Mosquitoes are very prevalent this time of year, but don't be tempted to spray your pet with insect repellants that contain DEET as it is toxic&nbsp;to pets," she said.&nbsp;"Only apply insect repellants that state they are safe to use on pets." K-State veterinarian: How to keep your pet safe during July 4 celebrations

While they may be a more common pest in garbage, raccoons also target the home garden. It seems as though raccoons harvest sweet corn right before it is to be picked, so Kansas State University horticulture expert Ward Upham recommends fencing as a prevention method. &nbsp;

“The only effective control measure I have had success with is fencing; either electric or kennel fencing,” Upham said.&nbsp;&nbsp;

To install electric fencing, use two or more wires, the first about five inches above the ground and the second four inches above the first (or nine inches above ground). Raccoons must not be able to crawl under, go between or go over the wires without being shocked.&nbsp;

Fence posts and insulators used for electric fences work well for this application.&nbsp;

“It is much easier to use the woven electric wire with strands of wire embedded than to use a solid metal wire. The woven wire is easier to bend around corners and to roll up when done for the year,” Upham said.&nbsp;

Upham suggests using battery operated fencing rather than plug-ins.&nbsp;&nbsp;

“Start the charger before the corn is close to being ripe. Once raccoons get a taste of the corn, they are more difficult to discourage,” Upham said.&nbsp;

He encourages weed control around the wire to prevent them from intercepting the voltage.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Kennel fencing can also be an alternative protection from raccoons.&nbsp;&nbsp;

“Make sure that the panels are tied together well enough that raccoons can’t squeeze through corners,” Upham said.&nbsp;&nbsp;

A covering over the top may be needed if the raccoons figure out how to climb the panels.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Welded garden fence can work well for this.&nbsp;

Barton Community College to close for Independence Day

A tradition that began 10 years ago has proven to be an ongoing legacy of true dedication to Clara Barton Medical Center. The Gift from the Heart appeal began in honor of Janet Hipp, a longtime employee of the hospital and avid supporter of the foundation. At benefit auctions, hovering between tables and bidding up items was one of the many ways she enjoyed supporting the Clara Barton organization. When Janet was no longer able to attend the 20th Annual Benefit, those closest to her wanted to create a way she could continue to give back - even in her absence - and the Gift from the Heart was born.

The Gift from the Heart appeal allows auction bidders to give from their hearts and help fund medical equipment/projects that keep Clara Barton providing the highest quality care. Over the last decade, donors have provided funding for a surgery recovery monitor, a stress test machine, the Nanosphere, pharmaceutical refrigerators and freezers for each of the three Clara Barton clinics, a transport chair for ER, a sleeper recliner bed for patient family members, a centrifuge machine for the lab, pharmacy renovations, bringing MRI in-house, and more.

“It’s amazing to watch community-minded individuals gathered at the event go from bidding against each other to working together and raising such a substantial amount in just a matter of minutes,” said Michelle Moshier, Clara Barton Foundation Director. “Funds raised during the Gift from the Heart appeal have had a significant impact on patient care at Clara Barton Medical Center over the past ten years in several different departments. Thanks to this special donation appeal there are funds available every year to finance the greatest need, keeping equipment and facilities up to date.”

At the benefit event, speaking on behalf of this year’s Gift from the Heart appeal were nurses Stacey Vincent, RN, and Rana Ingram, RN, with a combined 41 years of experience – almost as long as Janet’s 43-year career as an RN. They explained how donations to this project will help replace Clara Barton Medical Center’s current patient telemetry monitoring system.

A patient telemetry monitoring system is an important tool for examining heart rate and rhythm, blood pressure, breathing rate, and oxygen levels. It’s a non-invasive system that has the capability to detect problematic cardiac rhythms through a series of sensors that sound an alarm when an issue is detected. In addition, central monitoring allows nurses and providers access to real-time data, making it one of the first lines of defense in providing appropriate care in a critical situation.

“Mindray telemetry system will enable seamless monitoring of patients across the facility, which in turn will allow our medical professionals to detect a patient’s changing condition faster,” said Amanda Hoffman, Interim CEO/Pharmacy Director. “In addition, with the integration into our electronic health record clinicians will have immediate access to patient vitals.”

After hearing the details of this year’s project, the Gift from the Heart appeal kicked off with a $10,000 donation in memory of Bill Miller from William J. Investments and Miller’s of Claflin, in appreciation for all that Clara Barton Medical Center did for Bill and continues to do for the community. Thanks to their generosity, this appeal went on to raise an inspiring, record-breaking total of $25,000. Since 2013, the first year Janet was absent, this appeal has raised a grand total of over $84,000.

“The results of this year’s Gift from the Heart and the impact it has had over the years is truly phenomenal,” said Janet’s sister, Linda McFarlane. “This appeal is such a great idea because she loved her work and everybody at Clara Barton so much, it was always so important to her. She always gave from the heart and encouraged others to do the same. You’ll never have another auction without her there in spirit.”

For a life as inspiring as Janet’s, McFarlane recently published and released a book titled “Silver Linings” which chronicles her health journey after a bone marrow transplant. In McFarlane’s words, Janet always claimed that Clara Barton Hospital was her saving refuge after the loss of her husband. She cared deeply about the patients and the hospital fundraising auction became her passion.

“Janet always wanted the best for her patients and staff,” said Moshier. “As Chief Nursing Officer through 2008, she worked hard to bring advanced equipment to Clara Barton and the continuation of Janet's dream is relived each year through this Gift from the Heart appeal. Those who donate to this special appeal year after year are part of an amazing legacy of care, demonstrating their own profound sense of care for the community, just like Janet did as a nurse for so many years.”

With the equipment costing over $300,000, replacing the current patient telemetry monitoring system is a project the foundation and Clara Barton Medical Center will be working on throughout the year. This facility-wide project will first see advancements coming online to pre-op and post-op surgery areas, with ER outpatient services and inpatient hospital rooms to follow.

Last week we learned about the Abilene and Smoky Valley Railroad, which runs excursion trains from Abilene to Enterprise, the location of the Hoffman Grist Mill. The mill is managed by Debbie and Terry Thompson. Thanks to railroad volunteer and retired K-State department head Steve Smethers for today’s story.

In the 1860s, a miller named Christian Hoffman migrated from Sweden to Kansas. He saw a place along the Smoky Hill River where he could build a dam for a turbine that would power a grinding stone to grind wheat into flour. The Hoffman Grist Mill began operation in 1869.

The mill initially produced about 60 barrels of flour a day. It became the focal point of the area, spawning a small community of settlers, many of whom worked for Hoffman’s mill.

“The optimism and spirit of those settlers gave birth to the name of the village,” Smethers said. “In honor of Mr. Hoffman’s indefatigable spirit and the enterprising people who settled in the area, the community was named Enterprise.”

Hoffman’s milling business grew. By the turn of the 20th century, the Hoffman Grist Mill produced 1,200 barrels of flour daily. His flour was sold nationwide and beyond.

“In the era preceding hard red winter wheat -- the variety that is grown by Kansas producers today -- the River Valley farmers in the late 1800s grew Heritage Turkey Red, a strain of wheat brought to the region by Mennonite settlers,” Smethers said. “Turkey Red made an excellent flour, and the availability of Hoffman’s mill as a customer market ensured that area farmers grew a lot of the Russian wheat variety.”

In 1886, the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad was built through Enterprise, just south of the Hoffman Mill on the banks of the Smoky Hill River. A year later, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe also entered Enterprise near the mill on the east side. The mill prospered for decades but closed during the Great Depression.

Joe Minnick, the founder of the Abilene and Smoky Valley Railroad and a native of the area, was always fascinated by the Hoffman story. He decided to design and build a replica of the original mill on the south side of the Abilene and Smoky Valley right of way, across the street from Hoffman’s original plant.

Minnick located grinding stones and other milling equipment that he fashioned into a reincarnation of the Hoffman Mill. He even commissioned area farmers to grow Heritage Turkey Red wheat for the replica mill, which opened in 2016.

Today, the Hoffman Grist Mill produces several varieties of flour, including whole wheat, “bolted” or sifted white flour, and farina (often prepared as hot cereal). The mill also sells whole kernel wheat berries and corn meal, and produces a pancake mix, seasoned flour, and other special wheat-based products that are popular with tourists, train passengers, and area bakeries.

One local baker uses grist mill flour in making the cinnamon rolls that are served on A&amp;SV coffee break trains. Also available at the grist mill are meat, cheese, honey and other locally produced products.

Visitors can drive to the mill, or when riding the excursion train, can tour the mill while the railroad’s engineers turn their diesel or steam locomotives around for the return trip to Abilene.

“The Hoffman Mill is a popular attraction for tourists, school children and train passengers,” Smethers said.

It’s a wonderful asset for a rural community such as Enterprise, population 708 people. Now, that’s rural.

Stuff the Bus with United Way of Central Kansas is back this year and is hoping to double the impact thanks to support from Credit Union of America.

This year, UWCK has a goal of filling 250 backpacks for students across Great Bend. In collaboration with Central Kansas Christian Academy, Holy Family Elementary and USD 428, United Way hopes to help twice as many students as last year with their back-to-school supplies.

“With rising costs and family’s budgets being stretched tighter than ever, we see this as a way to alleviate some of that back to school stress," said Charell Owings, UWCK Executive Director. "We believe in the generosity of this community and are optimistic that we can reach our goal of 250 backpacks filled with the supplies students need to start the year off right.”&nbsp;

There are multiple ways you can support this initiative.

· Volunteers will be out at both Dillons locations and Walmart on July 22 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. asking shoppers to pick up a school supply or two while they are shopping.

· Drop off donations through the month of July at Sunflower Bank (3600 10th St) or the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce (1125 Williams).

· Collect supplies through your business, church, or organization. UWCK can pick the items up or you can drop them off at your preferred location on July 22.

Brooke Steinert, from Hoisington, grew up around dogs and
always had random pets in the backyard that she would find on the side of the road.
It was only fitting that she looked into becoming a veterinarian and started
working at Hoisington Veterinary Hospital when she was in high school. 

After
some time at Hoisington Vet, Steinert realized she did not want to work as a
veterinarian but still wanted to work with dogs. Steinert then made the
decision to become a dog trainer. 
 "Vets know the dogs' medical side but not really their behavior side," said Steinert. "There are a lot people that need help with the behavior side. You would see crazy dogs coming in, and the owners not knowing how to handle their dogs in public places. I could tell it was embarrassing for them and they would need help."

Steinert graduated from Hoisington High School in 2020 and then went to Austin,
Texas for a four-month dog training school. Steinert, in an interview on Focus on Hoisington on 1590 KVGB &amp; 95.5 FM, said she returned to Hoisington and
has been training dogs in Central Kansas since December 2020 with her business,
Coach K9 Training Academy.

"I didn't want to leave home right away, so I decided to start my own business," said Steinert. "It's been going well so far. I'm hoping I can keep getting business so I don't have to move away to be successful."

Steinert can work with dogs and owners for basic
commands, off-leash obedience, competition obedience and other behavior issues.

 "Private lessons are really good if you have the time to train your dog and are going to be consistent with training," said Steinert. "If not, then I refer customers to the board and train. Board and train is where the dog stays with me for three or four weeks. During that time, I usually teach sit, down, place and leash walking. Really, I can train whatever you're needing help with."

During the investigation, the Health Department noted rubbish/trash, feces and a large number of roaches. The building inspector noted multiple violations of the Uniform Housing Code. A motion will be made to approve a public hearing on Aug. 21, 2023 for the unsafe and dangerous structure.

&nbsp; &nbsp;6. Wayfinding Signs &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The CVB Advisory Board was instructed to make a plan and $50,000 was saved last year to pay for 15 wayfinding signs. The signs will match the welcome signs and create inviting directional signage to the points of interest and city locations. Marks Custom Signs placed a bid for $44,950.

Waterline Improvement at the Airport &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The Armory has been in the process of getting bids and working with city representatives to develop a plan to improve the water service to its facilities to allow for an expansion and addition of the current building. The city will incur no cost with the Federal Government paying for the upgrade. A motion will be presented to allow improvements to the water system at the airport.

Safety tips for Independence Day from Red Cross

The
drought monitor report as of Tuesday, June 27 indicates a fairly situation in
our area, extreme drought.&nbsp; Overall,
conditions are unchanged from last week, however, the exceptional drought areas
in the state have shrunk a bit more.&nbsp; And
there are slivers in Barton and Rice Counties that have been improved to only
extreme drought.&nbsp; The western third of
the state has seen the greatest improvement.&nbsp;
The six to ten-day outlook (July 4 to 8) indicates normal temperatures and
a 33 to 50% chance of leaning to above normal precipitation.&nbsp; The eight to fourteen-day outlook (July 6 to
12) indicates normal to a 33 to 40% chance of leaning to below normal temperatures
and a 40 to 50% chance of above normal precipitation.&nbsp; If this holds, drought conditions shouldn’t
worsen and might even improve.&nbsp; The are
will have to see how the strengthening El Nino affects our summer and fall
weather.

abundance of excellent farmland, and other resources from timber to minerals,
and a variety of climates.&nbsp; This allowed
for the production of a wide variety of crops and livestock.&nbsp; Over time, the types of crops increased to
what it is today.&nbsp; This has allowed our
country to be self-sufficient in food, fiber, and even fuel production.&nbsp; Yes, depending on the time of year, you will
find imported foodstuffs, however, while it’s great to have certain items all
year round, we can feed ourselves without them.

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; What
contributed to this abundance are the decisions made at the federal level.&nbsp; The Ordinances of the Northwest Territories
that help settle the traditional Midwest.&nbsp;
The Homestead Act the promoted settlement and agriculture in the Great
Plains.&nbsp; The establishment of the Land
Grant University System to promote scientifically based agricultural production
and provide a class of educated citizens for food production.

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Also important was the establishment of the
Cooperative Extension Service to disseminate a broad based of knowledge for
farm production and food handling among other things.&nbsp; Combine that with the USDA and its various
agencies like the FSA and NRCS, we are able to address challenges and promote
resource conservation by aiding various segments of agriculture.&nbsp; In the 1930s, to combat the Great Depression,
Dust Bowl, and soil water erosion, the government instituted policies to insure
farm production and conserve/improve natural resources.

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Finally,
state and federal levels of government developed a transportation system to
move production quickly across the country.
