Roch Alan “Rochy” Miller, II, 36,
passed away February 28, 2020, at Ellinwood District Hospital, Ellinwood.&nbsp; He was born March 8, 1983, in Great Bend, to
Roch Alan and Deborah (Brown) Miller. Rochy married Renee Stein Nov. 26, 2005
in Spearville.&nbsp; She survives.&nbsp;

Rochy, a
life time resident of Great Bend, was the service station manager for Great
Bend COOP, in Russell, and serviced wells for SEC Reclaiming dba H &amp; W Oil,
Patterson Energy and Edison.&nbsp; Rochy was a
member of Prince of Peace Parish, and enjoyed all things outdoors, including
hunting, fishing, and coaching his kids' sports teams.&nbsp; Rochy was passionate about collecting guns
and buying and selling cars, but above all, he loved being a dad.

Survivors
include his wife Renee; son, Daegan; two daughters, Brynn and Cambrie; father,
Roch A. Miller and wife Cori of Ellinwood; mother, Deborah Brillouet of
Galveston, Tex.; one sister, Tammy Dean of Galveston, Tex.; father-in-law and
mother-in-law, Kelly and Rita Stein of Spearville; brother-in-laws, Jason Stein
and wife Becca of Hays, Jeremy Stein and wife Ashley of Spearville, and Adam
Stein and wife Raven of Spearville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30
a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Great Bend, with
Father Don Bedore presiding. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday,
March 2, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with a Vigil and Rosary at 7:00
p.m.&nbsp; Memorials may be given to the Rochy

Roch Alan “Rochy” Miller, II

James Franklin Hilliard, 90, passed away Feb.
26, 2020, at Almost Home, Inc., Great Bend.&nbsp; He was born July 23, 1929, in
Fredonia, to Walter and Catherine (Pizel) Hilliard. Jim married Darlene Grace
Nusser Dec. 28, 1952 at Montezuma.&nbsp; Darlene died August 10, 2005.

&nbsp;Jim,
a Great Bend resident, was raised in Copeland, and while attending Southwestern
University in Winfield, he joined the USAF. &nbsp;He and his
wife also resided for some time in various stateside as well as overseas
locations during his USAF career. &nbsp;After serving 26 years as a USAF pilot he retired at Peterson Field in
Colorado Springs. &nbsp;Following his retirement from the U.S. Air Force in 1973,
earning the rank of Major,&nbsp;he and
his family then moved to the Radium area in 1974. &nbsp;Jim found a career in
carpentry, working for Harper Construction and Marlette Homes, both of Great
Bend. &nbsp;He
and his wife retired to Gilbert, Ariz. in 1992.&nbsp; After nine years he and
his wife moved to Haysville in 2001.&nbsp; In
2017 Jim then moved back to Great Bend where he resided until his passing.

Serving during both Vietnam and Korean Wars,
Jim’s military higher level awards and decorations included the Air Force
Combat Readiness as well as Small Arms Expert Marksmanship, and USAF Military
Command Pilot Wings.&nbsp; Jim was a qualified pilot and instructor, flying and
training on an extensive number of aircrafts

&nbsp;Jim was proud of his entire military
service, but there were some assignments he was particularly proud of.&nbsp;
While stationed at Travis AFB in California, his primary duty for five years
was returning soldiers who had given their all back home to their loved
ones.&nbsp; Jim was also an active member of The Ranch Hands, a very select
group of never more than 2,500 men who were assigned to remove enemy
cover.&nbsp;&nbsp;

&nbsp;He
was a member of the Wichita Arts Society. James was a passionate gemologist and
part owner of an opal mine in Australia. He was a world traveler, having
visited over 53 countries during his military career and civilian life.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Survivors include, a son Mark Hilliard
and wife Allisa of Derby; a daughter, Joanne Wondra and husband Steve of Great
Bend; eight grandchildren, Kurtis Hilliard and wife Kendra, Misty Smith and
husband Adam, Mandi Kuehn, James Keenan, Sean Keenan, Ryan Wondra, Hannan
Wondra and Nicholas Wondra; five great grandchildren, Quinton Smith, Carter Smith,
Kason Hilliard, Kyler Hilliard and Kooper Hilliard. He was preceded in death by
his parents; his wife, Darlene Hilliard; a sister Sonya Dunham; and a grandson,
Thomas Keenan.&nbsp;

Funeral
service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home, with
Rev. Morita Truman presiding.&nbsp; Graveside services will be held at 3:00
p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with Military Honors conducted by
McConnell Air Force Honor Guard.&nbsp; Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 9:00
p.m., Monday, March 2, 2020 at Bryant Funeral Home, with the family receiving
friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. &nbsp;In lieu of flowers memorials may be given

James Franklin Hilliard

Mary (Joyce) Edridge, 82,
passed away on February 27, 2020, at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood.&nbsp; She was born March 3, 1937, to Aaron and
Beaulah Loftin in Raleigh, Mississippi.

Joyce graduated from Magee
High School in June of 1954. She worked as a bookkeeper at Union Planters
National Bank, Merrill Lynch and Pierce Fenner and Smith Stock Market in
Memphis, Tennessee. This is where she met and married her first husband Billy
Joe Eldridge. His job at NCR is what brought them to Kansas. She was a homemaker
until he passed away in April 1975. She then went to work as a secretary for
D.R. Lauck Oil Co and Branson Truck Service. Eventually she decided to go into
business for herself and she owned and operated two liquor stores, one in Great
Bend and another in LaCrosse. 

She enjoyed being with her
family and friends. She also enjoyed playing cards, golf, reading and
volunteering for her church and other organizations. Just before retiring at
age 74 she also worked for Elder Care and Girls Home. She was an “adopted” mom
to many young people who often came to her for a listening ear and advice.

She belonged to Trinity
Methodist Church, V.F.W. and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons,
Patrick (Gina, and Wally Eldridge of Great Bend; and one daughter, Kristi
Grant (Robert) of Casper, Wyoming; Six Grandchildren, Doug, Derick, Billy,
Devin, John, and Haley; Eight Great Grandchildren, Trinity, Trystan, Brysen,
Andric, Hunter, Dax, Harley, and Cooper; two brothers,&nbsp; Ray Loftin (Janie, and Steve Loftin
(Jackie); and two sister-in-law’s, Ruth Loftin, and Nila Widner; As well as
several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a
brother, Mitch Loftin. 

Visitation will be held from
1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2020, with family to receive friends from
5:00 to 7:00 p.m.&nbsp; Funeral service will
be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at Trinity United Methodist Church,
located at Broadway &amp; Patton Road, Great Bend with Pastor Seong Lee
officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lakin-Comanche District
Cemetery, Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church
or the Barton County Youth Girls Home, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.

in Ellinwood.&nbsp; John was born on July 4,
1932 at Florence, Kansas
to Oden and Ruth (Bridge) Hatcher.&nbsp; The
family moved to Ellinwood in 1941 and John graduated from Ellinwood
High School in 1950.&nbsp; He was united in marriage to Donna Lange on
July 7, 1957 at Ellinwood, Kansas.&nbsp; John worked for Republic Supply in Ellinwood
for a number of years and later worked for Kaiser-Francis Gas and Oil Company
for 30 years, retiring in 1992.&nbsp; He was
an avid golfer, and has been a member of Grove Park Golf Club for many years.
John enjoyed fishing, being a rockhound, and dearly loved to travel with his
wife, Donna – the two of them having visited over 50 different cities
world-wide on cruises after he retired.&nbsp;
He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Ellinwood.

a retired homemaker who enjoyed helping on the farm, especially with her

Taylor Toys for many years before working at Sunflower Diversified Services

“Joe” Delaine Levingston, 77, passed away February 25, 2020, at his home in
Great Bend. He was born on August 24, 1942, at Hays to William C. &amp; Bona
Jane (Desmarteau) Levingston. He married Debbie Young on February 20, 1983,
at Pawnee Rock. She survives.

A lifetime
Barton county resident, Joe came to Great Bend from Pawnee Rock. He was a
drilling supervisor for Duke Drilling. Joe was a member of the American Legion
and the Kansas Oil &amp; Gas Museum. He was a very honest, hardworking and
patriotic man that decorated his yard with over 500 flags for patriotic
holidays. Joe loved golfing, his flowers, yard work, and going to the lake. He
served in the United States Army. Joe was a family man and especially loved his
grandbabies.

Survivors
include, his wife, Debbie of the home; two sons, Robert Levingston and wife
Sue, and Danen Levingston, all of Great Bend; three daughters, Sherry Axman and
husband Steve of Great Bend, Susan Marley and companion Doyle Lippert of Corpus
Christi, Tex., and Megan Shields and husband Brandon of Kansas City, Mo.; a
brother, William "Bo" Levingston and wife Cindy of Great Bend; two

A Celebration
of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., at the American Legion Post 180 in

Genita D. Hughes, 83, La Crosse, Kansas, died Monday,
February 24, 2020, at Rush County Memorial Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed, La
Crosse, Kansas.

Genita was born
August 3, 1936, in Rush Center, Kansas, the daughter of Carl and Dora (Goatley)
Solomon. &nbsp;She was a lifelong resident of
Rush County, Kansas.&nbsp; A 1954 graduate of
La Crosse High School, La Crosse, Kansas, she was in administration at the ASCS
office in La Crosse, Kansas, before her retirement.

She was a member of
the United Methodist Church, La Crosse, Kansas, where she was currently the
treasurer.&nbsp; She was a volunteer at A Second
Chance, and up until recently, the chairman of the Blood Drive, both of La
Crosse, Kansas.&nbsp; She was the current
treasurer for the City of Rush Center, and Walnut Valley Senior Center, both of
Rush Center, Kansas.&nbsp; She was also the
current treasurer of the EUB Trust, and a member and current treasurer of the Sunflower
Polka Club, Salina, Kansas.&nbsp; Genita
enjoyed bowling, and was a member of a Thursday morning bowling team in Hays,
Kansas.

On September 12,
1956, she married George R. Corsair at Glenwood Springs, Colorado.&nbsp; They later divorced.

On September 1, 1991,
she married Kent N. Hughes at Sheridan County, Missouri.&nbsp; He preceded her in death December 31, 2004.

Hoisington. He was born on October 31, 1925, at Otis, to Dan Ochs,
Sr.&nbsp; &amp; Violet (Schutler) Ochs. He
married Catherine Martin on September 31, 1945, at Hays.&nbsp; She died November 21, 2009.

A lifetime
Barton and Rush county resident, Dan currently resided in Great Bend. Dan was a
farmer and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness'. He served in the
United States Air Force. He enjoyed farming and chasing the grandkids. 

He is
survived by two sons, Michael Ochs and wife Stella of Great Bend, and Roy Ochs
and wife Julie of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Norma Jean Ochs of Holdrege, Neb.,
and Donna Smolick and husband Richard of Timken; eight grandchildren; many
great grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his
parents; two sisters, Wanda Jacobs, and Leona Reinhart; and one grandson, Aaron
Ochs. 

There will
be no visitation as cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be
held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2020, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah

William (Bill) Harden Sr., 71, passed away February 23, 2020 at Sandpiper
Health and Rehabilitation Center, Wichita, KS.

He was born
October 23, 1948 in Winnfield, LA, the son of Nathan and Cora Lee Austin
Harden.&nbsp; Originally living in Louisiana,
he moved to McPherson, Kansas and then to Larned, Kansas in 1992.&nbsp; He was a devoted minister, spending every
Sunday at Church and was also a bus driver for USD 495, Larned.

He was a
member of the Escue Chapel, CME Church, Larned and Second Baptist Church, Great
Bend.&nbsp; He enjoyed fishing and going to
church.

On July 16,
1975, he married Katherine “Kat” Guye in Winnfield, LA. She died August 27,
2010.&nbsp; On May 26, 2012 he married Shirley
Williams in Wichita.&nbsp; She survives.

Other
survivors include: three sons, William “Junior” (Lindy) Harden, Lawrence, KS,
Shawn (Katelyn Shnuerlee) Harden, Hays, KS, Rodney Harden, Louisiana; two
daughters, Renia Harden, Houston, TX, Lekisha Magee, Louisiana; brother, Roy
Harden, McPherson, KS; and eight grandchildren.

He was
preceded in death by; two sisters, Corene Foster and Erlene Magee.

Health and Rehabilitation Center, Wichita, KS.He was born
October 23, 1948 in Winnfield, LA, the son of Nathan and Cora Lee Austin
Harden.&nbsp; Originally living in Louisiana,
he moved to McPherson, Kansas and then to Larned, Kansas in 1992.&nbsp; He was a devoted minister, spending every
Sunday at Church and was also a bus driver for USD 495, Larned.He was a
member of the Escue Chapel, CME Church, Larned and Second Baptist Church, Great
Bend.&nbsp; He enjoyed fishing and going to
church.On July 16,
1975, he married Katherine “Kat” Guye in Winnfield, LA. She died August 27,
2010.&nbsp; On May 26, 2012 he married Shirley
Williams in Wichita.&nbsp; She survives.Other
survivors include: three sons, William “Junior” (Lindy) Harden, Lawrence, KS,
Shawn (Katelyn Shnuerlee) Harden, Hays, KS, Rodney Harden, Louisiana; two
daughters, Renia Harden, Houston, TX, Lekisha Magee, Louisiana; brother, Roy
Harden, McPherson, KS; and eight grandchildren.He was
preceded in death by; two sisters, Corene Foster and Erlene Magee.Funeral

Jerry P. Wendel, 89, passed away Feburary 24, 2020, at River Bend Assisted
Living, Great Bend. He was born on October 15, 1930, at Ellinwood, the son of Peter L.
&amp; Bertha A. (Steimel) Wendel. He married Theda Jo Whelan on November 30,
1957 at Great Bend. She survives.

A lifetime
Great Bend resident, Jerry was the division manager for Centel/Western Plains
Energy for 19 years. After working for 40 years there, he retired on February
1, 1993. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose and Knights of
Columbus. He had been active in many areas within the community, such as a
director for CKMC, Kansas Association of Commerce and Industry, an inside
chairman for the 3I Exhibition and Central Kansas Development, as well as, the
Great Bend Lions Club, Elks Lodge, Chamber of Commerce, Vintage Wheel Antique
Auto Club, MACK Flying Club, Kansas Calvary and the Great Bend County Club. 

Survivors
include, his wife, Theda Jo Wendel of the home; a brother, Thomas Wendel of
Hutchinson; and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. He
was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Catherine Birzer and Audrey
Puckett.

There will
be no visitation as cremation has taken place and the register book will be
available to sign, Wednesday, February 26th to Friday, February 28th,
from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday,
March 1, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at

“Cliff” R. Jordan, 87, passed away February 21, 2020, at Almost Home, Inc.,
Great Bend.&nbsp; Cliff was born December 5,
1932 in Claflin, to Elmer Charles, Jr. and Georgia Martha Jordan.&nbsp; He married Joanna “Jo” Miller August 30, 1959,
in Great Bend.

A lifetime
Barton County resident, Clifford lived in Great Bend. He was a meter reader for
48 years for Centel, formerly Western Power, a member of First Christian
Church, and former Scout leader and church youth leader. He was passionate
about the outdoors, enjoying gardening, cactus collecting, and walking the
neighborhood.&nbsp; His love of the outdoors
led him to 25 years of service as a local weather monitor/recorder for the
National Weather Service. Above all, Cliff was known as a loving dedicated
family man. 

Survivors include,
his wife, Jo; two sons, Michael Jordan and wife Kathy of Hutchinson, and Scott
Jordan and wife Heather of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Lois Nichols of Salina; and
two grandchildren, Caroline, and Grant Jordan. He was preceded in death by his
parents; a brother, Bob Jordan; and a sister, Mae Eaton.

Funeral
service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at First Christian

19, 2020, at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina.&nbsp; He was born on October 16, 1967, to Jackie
LeRoy &amp; Peggy Lee (Harrell) Miller, at Great Bend. He married Carmen G.
McGee on October 17, 1998, at Halstead. She survives.

Jackie was a current Great Bend
resident. He was a welder for Mountain West Oilfield Service in Vernal, Utah
and most recently a shipping and receiving clerk at Tortilla King in
Moundridge, until his retirement in 2014. He was a member of the Wichita
Darting Association. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, camping, shooting and
anything outdoors. He was a hobby tattoo artist, liked eagles, and was an x box
World of Tanks enthusiast.

Survivors include, his wife, Carmen
Miller of the home; three sons, John Alvie Miller and wife Annie, and Brian James
Miller, all of Vernal, Utah, and Kenton Grauerholz and wife Brittany of Great
Bend; a daughter, Natasha Taylor and husband Chris of Vernal, Utah; mother in
law, May McGee of Newton; two sisters, Tammy Krammer, and Nicola Hatch and
husband Jayson, all of Burrton; 18 grandchildren; and 16 nieces and nephews. He
was preceded in death by his parents.

Clifford Lee Atkerson, 66, of
Russell, Kansas, died on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at the Hays Medical Center
in Hays, Kansas.

Cliff was born on April 21, 1953,
in Hoisington, Kansas, the son of Paris Leon and Mary Ann (Sparks)
Atkerson.&nbsp; Cliff grew up in Russell,
Kansas, and graduated from Russell High School in the class of 1971. &nbsp;He attended 2 years at the Salina Area
Vocational School for auto mechanics. &nbsp;He
was married to Rita Dumler in 1973, and from this union they were blessed with
3 children Cristy Craig and Cindy. &nbsp;Later,
he and Rita were divorced.&nbsp; He worked
with his father and became the owner and operator of Leon's Tank Service.&nbsp; He was a member of the Russell Masonic Blue
Lodge, York Rite, Scottish Rite and a Shrine.&nbsp;
He loved working with the Shrine during ceremonial and shrine
circus.&nbsp; He enjoyed trap shooting and
sporting clays with family and friends.&nbsp;
He also enjoyed going to local race tracks and helping out with his
jeep.&nbsp; He was also an avid gun, lego and
hat collector.&nbsp; Most of all he enjoyed
spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren.

Surviving family include his
daughter Cristy Dinkel and husband Larry, son Craig Atkerson and wife Janae and
grandchildren Rylee and Reanna Atkerson all of Hays, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his
parents, daughter Cindy R. Atkerson and sister Lee Anne Emmons.

HOISINGTON, KANSAS - Carolyn Ann Bailey, 84, passed away February 14, 2020, at
Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington.&nbsp; She
was born September 15, 1935, in Hoisington, to John and Anna (Larmer)
Simmons.&nbsp; Carolyn married Donald Lee
Bailey June 28, 1953, in Hoisington.&nbsp; He
died Sept. 12, 2009.

Carolyn, a life time resident of Hoisington, had been a
dedicated and active member of First United Methodist Church, Hoisington, the
American Legion Auxiliary Post 286, VFW Auxiliary Post 7428, both of
Hoisington, and the 8/40 Reno Salon.&nbsp; She
was a past Kansas State Department President of the American Legion
Auxiliary.&nbsp;&nbsp; In Carolyn and Donald's
younger years, they enjoyed their national travels to American Legion
Conventions, and any outdoor activities, including archery and lake trips.&nbsp; She was a lifelong reader, journal writer,
and card and game enthusiast.&nbsp; In more
recent years, Carolyn enjoyed puzzle books and playing games with her family
and friends.&nbsp; Carolyn started her
professional career as a telephone operator with South Western Bell and Western
Light and Telephone.&nbsp; After 25 years, she
transitioned into 40 years of employment with Superior Essex, retiring in 2016.

Survivors include one son Ron Bailey and wife Gail of
Hoisington; two daughters, LeAnn Nuss of Hoisington and Sheila Burgess and
husband Lee of Sterling; eight grandchildren, Aaron Warrick and wife Natalie,
Tisha Ritter, Sam Bailey and wife Tara, Nathan Bailey and wife Tiffany, Ian
Bailey and wife Sarah, Krista Galvan and husband David, Bailey Burgess and
fiancé Jordan Echer and Alex Burgess and wife Brooke; two step grandchildren
Shelly Schneider and husband Keith and Chris Nuss; 16 great grandchildren,
Gabe, Nick, Alaina, Suzanna, Peyton, Dylan, Tessa, Derek, Olivia, Buddie,
Seija, Caleb, Willow, Abram, Cruz, David Jr. and one great great grandchild,
Penelope; sister-in-law, Doris Simmons of Hoisington; and sister-of-the-heart,
Marian Birmingham of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews. She
was preceded in death by her husband Donald; three brothers, Robert Simmons,
Donald Simmons and John Simmons; sister, Frances Lee Simmons; and son-in-law,

Shirley Jean Link, 88, passed away February 14, 2020, at River Bend
Assisted Living, Great Bend. She was born on November 17, 1931 at Denver,
Colo., to Jack E. &amp; Emma (Feist) Wallace, and was raised in Buena Park,
Ca., before moving to Bushton, Kan. at age 14. She resided in Chase and Great
Bend. She married Kenneth J. Link on March 27, 1951 at Bushton.&nbsp; He died April 9, 2017.

She was a
retail sales clerk for Gunn's Clothing, JC Penney's and Kitchen Cupboard for
many years. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima
Catholic Church, the Altar Society and former member of Daughters of Isabella.
She was an avid shopper and the best, mother, grandmother, and great
grandmother ever. 

Survivors
include, two daughters, Linda Meyeres and husband Jim of Chase, and Denise
Barbour and husband Jack of San Angelo, Tex.; a son in law, Lynn Bownes, and a
daughter in law, Janis Link, both of Great Bend; seven grandchildren, Mike Link
and wife Kristi, Steven Link, Ryan Bownes and wife Staci, Derek Bownes and wife
Ashley, Kalesha Bownes, Jason Meyeres and wife Darci, and Jamee Kizzar and

Ann “Kat” Smades, 47, passed away February 10, 2020, following a brief battle
with cancer, at her home in Great Bend.&nbsp;
Kat was born July 8, 1972, at Garden City.

Kat had
been a Great Bend resident since 2007, coming from Leoti, Deerfield and Garden
City.&nbsp; She served her country honorable in
the U.S. Army.&nbsp; She was a member of the
Catholic faith. Kat enjoyed shooting, hunting, watching movies and loved
playing softball and volleyball. 

Survivors
include, her companion of the home, Jesse R. Defenbaugh; and two daughters,
Autumn Smades of Hays and Summer Smades of Leoti; and one brother, Louis
Michael "Trea" Zellner, III. of Hugoton. She was preceded in death by
her mother, Nancy (Heili) Zellner Gillock and step father, Myron Gillock.

She was born to parents Fred &amp; Francis (Monger) Esfeld on Nov. 23rd, 1924 in Great Bend, KS. A lifetime Ellinwood area resident she graduated from Great Bend High School in 1942 and later married Lawrence Birzer a Saint Rose Church in Great Bend, KS on Apr.27th, 1948. He passed away Feb. 17th, 2011. Catherine worked at Fuzzy's Drive-In and at Dierolf's and Huschka's liquor stores.

Survivors include 2 sons, Melvin (Twila) Birzer, Great Bend, KS and Steve (Brenda) Birzer, Ellinwood, KS; 2 daughters, Jane (Bob) Carr, Edmond, OK and Connie (Keith) Miller, Great Bend, KS. Other survivors include 19 Grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 1 grea-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by husband, Lawrence Birzer; granddaughter, Patricia Taber; 4 brother, Fritz, Joe, George, and Dutch; and 1 sister, Agatha.

She was born in rural Mildred, KS on June 17, 1926 to parents Elmer lee &amp; Mamae Mary Marjorie (Ballard) Colgin. She married Oliver Glenn Jackson on Aug. 22, 1948 in Kincaid, KS, he passed away on Mar. 16, 2015. 

A lifetime Kansas resident Lucille was a resident of Ellinwood, KS since 1973. Memberships include Ellinwood United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She worked as a secretary for Kaiser-Francis Oil Co. and was an excellent cook specializing in breads and pies.&nbsp;

Survivors include sons, L.W (Butch) and wife Mary Jackson and Dennis and wife and Diana Jackson; sister, Carol Synder; brother-in-laws, Cecil Jackson, and Jame (Maxine) Jackson; and sister-in-law Dorothy Dice.

Other survivors include grandchildren, Kristin Harris, Jenny Hughes, Miles Jackson, Lacey Valdez, Chis Jackson and great-grandchildren, Dakota Hughes, Brady Jackson, Hunter Valdez, Jackson Valdez, Kellie Jackson, and Kaylee Jackson.

GREAT BEND - Roberta J. “Bert” Brack, 87, passed
away February 10, 2020, at Leisure Homestead, St. John.&nbsp; She was born January 26, 1933, in Great Bend,
to Robert Michael and Mary Jane (Boyle) Spitzmiller.&nbsp; Bert married Daylon Laverne Brack August 18,
1952, in Great Bend, and later divorced. &nbsp;

Bert, a
life time resident of Great Bend, was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church,
Great Bend, Great Bend Desk and Derrick and the Great Bend Saddle Club.&nbsp; During her employment career, she worked for
Fuller Brush Industries, Insurance Unlimited, Crawford and Company, then
retired from the Great Bend Convention and Visitors Bureau.&nbsp; Following her retirement, she enjoyed her
part time employment at the Kansas Wetlands Education Center.&nbsp; Bert was known for her lifetime equine
passion, enjoying fellowship with other members of the Great Bend Saddle Club. 

Survivors
include one daughter, Cathy Vonfeldt of Great Bend; one son, Gary Brack of
Wichita; six grandchildren, Jason, Jared, Shaunta, Lavenia, Lance and Makishia;
and 17 great grandchildren.&nbsp; Bert was preceded
in death by her parents, stepfather, Chester Smith; and two brothers, Robert
Michael “Mike” Spitzmiller and John Henry “Jack” Spitzmiller.

Cremation
has taken place and a memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, February
14, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Rev. Barbara Jones presiding.Inurnment will be 1:30 p.m. at Pawnee Rock
Cemetery, Pawnee Rock.The register book
will be available to sign 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2020
at Bryant Funeral Home.A memorial fund has
been designated for Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
