Regis Dean Schulte, age 71, of Wichita, Kansas, died Monday, March 16, 2020, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital-St. Francis Wichita, Kansas. He was born November 21,1948, at Hays, Kansas to John and Amelia “Mollie” (Dinkel) Schulte. He married Brenda Kay (Sechler) on July 7, 1973, at Victoria, Kansas.
He was a draftsman engineer at the Coleman Company in Wichita for 44 years and retired in 2011. He grew up in Victoria and was a 1966 graduate of Victoria High School. He graduated from Wichita State University with an Engineering Degree. Regis was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Wichita and very active in the parish. He also was a volunteer at The Center of Hope in Wichita.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Schulte, of the home; one son, Matthew Schulte and wife, Jane, Wichita, KS; one daughter, Kimberly Schulte, Maize, KS; one brother, Damian Schulte and wife, Alicia, Escondido, CA; one sister, Claudia Hertel, Great Bend, KS; three grandchildren, George Schulte, Braden Schulte and Ellen Schulte.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carey Schulte; and one brother-in-law, Denis Hertel.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 P.M. Monday, March 23, 2020, at St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas. A mass of Christian burial will be held at a later date in Wichita, Kansas.
The family suggests memorials to The Center of Hope in care of the mortuary.
