Great Bend Post
In May, the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce announced a mural would be painted on the north side of their office on Williams Street. Hutchinson-based artist Brady Scott arrived in Great Bend this week and the project has commenced.
Chamber CEO Megan Barfield said the Chamber has teamed up with
Barton Arts Movement to bring new life to the downtown building.
"This building is such a staple of downtown," said Barfield. "It's the center point of the business community. To have that pop of color that the mural is going to give creates such a warm and inviting building to walk into and do business."

Barfield said along with the sunflower-themed mural, the project will include other features.
"People will see other flowers popping in alongside the sunflower," said Barfield. "There will be some magnolias and a really big blue jay. In talking with artist Brady Scott, he just really loves blue jays. He was told it was his spirit animal from a friend."
The Chamber has given Scott access to the office to take a break from the heat,
as well as a cooler full of water bottles. Barfield expected the mural to be
finished by the end of the week.
