Four Great Bend High School students were recognized for their accomplishments in sports at Wednesday's Great Bend School Board luncheon meeting.

High school principal Tim Freiss first introduced senior Breanna Ridgeway who has captured state titles in girls wrestling for the past three years. Seniors Kaden Spragis and Wyatt Weber also met the board members. They won state championships this year in boys wrestling, the second title for Weber.

Freiss told the board that the wrestling champions are also performing well in the classroom.

"All three of them were above 3.2 GPA's so they've done a really nice job of representing us," Friess said. "We appreciate that very much."

The three athletes were coached by Nathan Broeckelman who also attended the meeting.

Sophomore Kaylin Wahlmeier was recognized for winning the state 5A state championship in individual bowling. Friess told the school board members that Wahlmeier is also excelling academically at Great Bend High.
