Winners were announced for the local showing of the Pitch, Hit & Run event hosted by the Major League Baseball. The competition provides boys and girls an opportunity to showcase their baseball and softball skills.

The event was held at the Great Bend Sports Complex on July 5.

Winners from each age group were:

8U Girls: Brooks Hogan
10U Girls: Baze Hogan
12U Girls: N/A
14U Girls: N/A

8U Boys: Lincoln Cale
10U Boys: Eli Boor
12U Boys: Noah Kaiser
14U Boys: Evan Amador

The children are scored on their pitching, hitting and running.

Pitch, Hit & Run is for children 7-14 years old. Based on their scores, the winners will have a chance to advance to a Team Championship held at an MLB ballpark. From there, winners have an opportunity to compete at the National Finals at the MLB World Series.

Last year, Great Bend had three children earn a trip to Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City to compete in the Team Championship.
