GREAT BEND -
Melvin D. Loreg, 92, passed away August 26, 2020, at Clara Barton Hospital,
Hoisington. He was born on July 6, 1928, at Codell, Kan., to Mike &amp; Eva
(Cline) Loreg. He married Joyce Ann Benoit on November 26, 1955, at
Phillipsburg.&nbsp; She died February 26,
2004.

A long time Great Bend resident,
Melvin had previously lived in Hays and Plainville. Melvin was a long time
oilfield employee, enjoying all aspects of the industry. He was a veteran of
the United States Army. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish,
Sunflower Polka Club, American Legion Argonne Post #180, and VFW Post #3111. 

Survivors include, two sons, Clifford
Loreg and wife Sabrina of Great Bend, and Melvin “Junior” Loreg and wife Tanna
of Wichita; a daughter, Jeanette Sanders and husband Mike of Great Bend; three
brothers, Mike “Junior” Loreg of Hoisington, Dean Loreg of Topeka, and Darrell
Loreg of Clinton, Mo.; two sisters, Marjoria Lois Beockner of Hays, and LaDonna
Lytle of Great Bend; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce Ann Loreg; five sisters; and
two infant brothers. &nbsp;

There will
be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at
3:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Father
Louis Trung Dinh Hoang presiding. Inurnment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery,
with Military Rites conducted by the Army National Guard. Memorials are

73, passed away August 9, 2020, at her home in Great Bend surrounded by members
of her family. She was born on April 22, 1947, in Robstown, Texas, the daughter

Mary F. Ward

GREAT BEND - Robert
Fremont Ingersoll, 91, passed away August 23, 2020, at Brookdale Senior Living,
Great Bend. He was born on March 28, 1929, at Claflin, to Edward &amp; Martha
(Piel) Ingersoll. He married Eileen Rauth, on August 4, 1951 at St. Petersburg,
Fla. She survives.

Bob was the
owner of Ingersoll’s Auto Trim and Upholstery. He was a member of the First
United Methodist Church, Elks Lodge, American Legion Argonne Post #180, ROMEOs,
a former Boy Scout troop #117 leader, and an Argonne Rebel supporter. He
enjoyed camping and boating with his family and friends. He had a giving heart
and this was shown by giving back to his community in many ways, one of which
was him volunteering at Central Care Cancer Center. Bob served in the United
States Air Force during the Korean conflict and received a Quilt of Valor for
his service. He served as Commander of American Legion Argonne Post #180 from
1989 to 1990. 

Survivors
include, his wife Eileen Ingersoll, of the home; a son, Steve Ingersoll and
wife Lori of Topeka; two daughters, Cindy Rodie and husband Bruce of
Hoisington, and Karen Boles and husband Greg of Wichita; six grandchildren,
Adam Ingersoll and wife Eva, Douglas Ingersoll, Nolan Ingersoll and wife Erin,
Ryan Rodie, Kaitlyn (Rodie) Pearson and husband Jacob, and Austin Boles; and
one great grandchild due in December. He was preceded in death by his parents;
a brother, Damon Ingersoll; and two sisters, Margaret Butler, and Mary
Patterson.

will be held from Noon to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Bryant
Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral

11, 1961, in Topeka, to Oscar and Mabel M. (Riemann) Bender.&nbsp; Doug married Karen (Meitler) May 28,
1998.&nbsp; Karen passed away July 15,
2003.&nbsp; He then married Linda (Kretzer)
Oct. 29, 2011.

Doug, a
long time Great Bend resident, was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Great
Bend, and past board member of USD 428 school board and Suicide Prevention Task
Force.&nbsp; His passion for umpiring,
coaching, and broadcasting spanned over a time period of 40 years.&nbsp; Most recently working for Central Kansas
Radio-Rocking M Media, over the years his distinct knowledgeable broadcasting
voice was aired for Barton Community College baseball, Ellinwood High School
and Great Bend Chiefs baseball.&nbsp; His
coaching and umpiring career stretched from Great Bend Recreation Commission
youth leagues to high school to college level athletics.&nbsp; His contagious enthusiasm for sports helped
shape the lives of many youth across the country. 

Survivors
include his companion, Linda; five sons, Benjamin McDowell of Denver, Heath
McDowell of Garden City, Blake McDowell of Provo, Utah, Tommy McDowell of
Dumas, Texas and Dalton Bender of Great Bend; three daughters, Danica Bender of
Emporia, Laura McDowell of Dumas, Texas and Audrianna Bender of Great Bend; and
ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Brandon D. Bender,
parents and wife, Karen.

Douglas Wayne Bender

Clayton
Lee Sprires, 82, died August 21, 2020, at Clara Barton Hospital,
Hoisington.&nbsp; He was born April 24, 1938,
in Hoisington, the son of Cordrey and Maudie E. (Anglin) Spires.&nbsp; Clayton graduated from Hoisington High School
in 1956.&nbsp; He was a Vietnam Veteran
serving in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960.

A
longtime Hoisington resident, Clayton worked in the oil field for many years for
both Boger Brothers Drilling and Shirer Well Service.&nbsp; He was also a former policeman, postman, and
most recently he was a bus driver for the Hoisington schools for the last 12
years. He also had a dance band that he loved singing and playing the guitar
most weekends! He loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren
with all his heart. And loved his bus kids as well. Everyone that met him
enjoyed his stories of the past and the genuine person that he always was.

In
June of 1962, he married Sandra Sowles, they divorced 12 years later.&nbsp; He then married Linda F. Smith on June 22,
1973, in Garden City, Kansas. She preceded him in death on September 27, 2016.

Survivors
include; six children, Machelle Mujica of Garden City, Shelly Bownes of
Hoisington, Lorrie High of Washington, Pennslyvania, Bonnie Brungardt of
Hoisington, Cindy Anderson of Hoisington, and Clayton “Lee” Spires, Jr. of
Wichita; a brother, William “Bill” Spires of Centennial, Colorado, and a
sister, Shirley Juby of Gillette, Wyoming; 18 grandchildren, and many great
grandchildren.

He
was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and seven siblings, Briace Spires,
Nadine Beeman, Melba Maggard, Berniece Whitaker, Twilla Brack, LaVern Spires,
and Basil Jantz.

Visitation
will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, with family to greet to friends from 6 to 8
p.m.

Funeral
service will be 1:00 p.m.,Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at Nicholson-Ricke

Clayton Lee Sprires

Burdett – Joseph L. Griffie, 71, passed away August 23, 2020
at his home in Burdett.

He was born May 17, 1949 in Dewitt, Arkansas to William E.
and Mary Helen Jowers Griffie Sr.

A longtime area resident, he was a retired fuel department
manager for Golden Valley Coop. He was of the Christian faith and proudly served
in the United States Navy. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion,
D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans), Burdett City Council, and the Southwest
Kansas Area Agency on Aging.

On May 1, 1971 he married Catherine A. Keillor at Long
Beach, California; she survives.

Other survivors include: daughter, Sclie (Danny) Murray,
Great Bend; son, Clint (Stacie) Griffie, Derby; four brothers, Daniel Griffie,
Dewitt, Arkansas, Robert Griffie, Dewitt, Arkansas, William Martin Griffie,
Tucson, Arizona, Gregory Griffie, Grandview, Missouri; two grandchildren, Emma
and Owen Griffie; father, William Griffie Sr, Dewitt, Arkansas. 

He was preceded in death by his mother and two brothers,
William Griffie Jr. and Herbert E. Griffie.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2020

Wayne Yott, 62, died August 19, 2020, at his home in rural Olmitz, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born July 8, 1958, in Louisville,
Kentucky, the son of Emmitt A. “Sonny” and Inola S. (Johnston) Yott.&nbsp; Darrell graduated from Hoisington High School
in 1976 and then later received his associate degree from Barton County
Community College. He served in the United States Army as a Specialist 4 from
1976 to 1979.&nbsp;

A longtime Barton County resident, he was an oil field driller
with Southwind Drilling.&nbsp; He also owned
his own flooring business, Darrell’s Custom Floors. Darrell was good man with a
zest for life.&nbsp; He loved his many friends
and family. He also loved a good game of horseshoes and sponsored the DD
Horseshoe Tournament. He was an avid hunter and sportsman, and loved playing
pool, ping pong, darts, and bowling.

On
June 8, 1976, he married Rebecca Cannon, and they later divorced.&nbsp; He then married Laura Hendon on October 4,
2017, in Great Bend, Kansas.&nbsp; She
survives. 

Other
survivors include; son, David Yott of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and daughters,
Theresa Yott and spouse Thomas Wise of Hoisington, and Dietre Stevenson of
Olmitz; four grandchildren, Tyler Duerksen, Dylan W. Yott, Dayne W. Yott, and

He was born November 6, 1958 to Harley B. Appel and Nancy Brinkman Appel in Minneola, Kansas. They later divorced and Suzanne Appel became his second mother.

Steve and Rogene Kees Appel married December 31, 1979 and had one son, Shane S. Appel.

Steve was known in the area as a John Deere mechanic which he did for forty years. He graduated in 1976 from Marysville High School but claimed Kinsley as his home town where he attended school up to his last couple of years.

He is survived by his wife, Rogene; one son, Shane (Dana) Appel, Larned; grandmother, Helene Glynn, Marysville; five sisters, Terri (Tim) Fuller, Hutchinson, Sherri (Rickie) Baugh, Phoenix, Arizona, Kelli (Eric) Strichternath, Marysville, Jodi (Kevin) O’Neil, Beattie, Jill (Kevin) Murphy, Stewart, Nebraska; brother, Charles Kent Appel, Phoenix, Arizona; two granddaughters, Aubree (Brandon) Appel, Zahara (Matt) Reason; four grandsons, Zach (Tera) Harper, Zane Harper, and Zeth Harper; one great grandson, Einar Harper, and one on the way.

LAWRENCE - Nicholas Aaron “Nick” VanCamp, 28, passed away August 17, 2020, at his home in Lawrence. He was born on November 4, 1991, in Hutchinson to Mark and Joyce (Rosenberg) VanCamp. He married Shelby Miller on July 29, 2016, in Kansas City. She survives.

Growing up in Great Bend, Nick was a current Lawrence resident. He graduated from Great Bend High School and then attended Washburn University and Kansas State University, obtaining dual degrees at both institutions. Nick worked for Engineered Air in DeSoto as a mechanical designer. He loved to play the guitar and enjoyed listening to rock and roll, especially Van Halen. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Shelby VanCamp of the home; three children, Edward VanCamp, Neil VanCamp and Jillian VanCamp, all of the home; his mother, Joyce VanCamp of Great Bend; and five sisters, RayAnne VanCamp, Zora VanCamp, Jordis VanCamp, Kendalyn VanCamp, Tessa VanCamp, all of Carbondale. He was preceded in death by his father, Mark VanCamp.

Nicholas Aaron “Nick” VanCamp

ST. JOHN - Mary Ann Heyen, 83, was called home to heaven on August 16, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She will be welcomed by her late husband, Meryle. Born March 15, 1937 to Jim (postmaster in St John) and Jennie Owen (teacher in Missouri) in Great Bend, Kansas during a snow storm. Her grandfather, C.A. Brown, donated a tract of land which is now known as the baseball park, swimming pool, shelter house, football field and Brown Park.

Mary Ann graduated in 1957 from St John High School, a 5th generation graduate. After high school Mary Ann went to college in Emporia, Ks and Gulf Port, Mississippi and studied nursing. In college she loved fencing and won many medals and trophies for her efforts. Mary Ann loved life and in the summer of 1956 worked at the North Pole in Colorado, at their grand opening as "Little Bo Peep" and an elf.

She married Meryle Heyen on October 18, 1958 at the Methodist Church in St. John. Later she and Meryle joined the Church of Christ in Stafford. She belonged to the Modern Homemakers in Stafford, Great Bend Petroleum Club, she was a 50 year member (Golden Girl) of PEO in St. John, and was a member of numerous bridge clubs in St. John, Stafford, Great Bend, and Woodland Park Colorado.

Her hobbies were rock gathering in the mountains, estate and garage sales, collecting cut glass, old fruit jars, and barb wire. She loved going to Cripple Creek with her bridge friends and her niece Cappy and Sam. The love of her life besides Meryle were her dogs and great-grandchildren.

Survived by daughter Brenda Heyen of St John, grandchildren Erika Bebee and companion, Derek Jones, and Jaime Heyen. Great grandchildren Jadance Heyen, Jakobus "Kobi" Heyen, Elvin Jones, Colt Heyen and Remington Becker all of St John. Extended grandchildren, Leah Getty (Kip Ward, spouse), Travis Getty (Jamie Getty, spouse) and Heath Getty all of St John. Extended great grandchildren Hunter, Colton, and Addi Ward, Reese Getty, and Shyanna Rittel. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Jim and Jennie Owen, Brothers, Jimmy Phelps and Jack Brown Owen, three great grandchildren, Noah, Bjorn, and Luka and extended son Leonard Getty.

Mary Ann Heyen

Jacqueline Ann “Jackie” Walter, 94, died August 18, 2020, at Country Place Senior Living, Hoisington, Kansas. She was born June 12, 1926, in McCook, Nebraska, the daughter of John B. and Marie B. “Mabelle” (Amen) King. Jackie attended the Universtiy of Nebraska and received her bachelor degree in the college of music education. It was here that she met and married her husband I.C. “Ike” Walter. Jackie was privileged to study voice at the UNL with the renowned Dr. Arthur Westbrook. She was a member of the University of Nebraska Singers for four years and sang in the University Production. She was past president of Delta Omicron National Sorority and was a member of the Opera Carmen.

On December 18, 1948, she married Iven C. “Ike” Walter, at the Plymouth Congregational Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1951 they moved to Hoisington where her husband was employed as the first full time Hospital Adminstrator at the Hoisington Lutheran Hospital. She was very active in the community and had served as choir director of Concordia Lutheran Church for over fifty years. Singing for weddings and funerals and other special events in the area kept her very busy. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Social Sorority, Sacs, Social and Cultural Society, and was past president of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She served on the board of directors of the Barton County Community Concert Association for many years where she was vice president and drive chairman. She was a charter member of the P.E.O. chapter GG, and a member of the Tri N Bridge Club. Jackie organized the Labor Day Royalty Night for the Labor Day Queen Contest and was MC for several years of the Royalty Pageant Night.

Jacke worked with her husband, Ike who was the owner and operator of the new Town &amp; Country Supermarket along with Ray and Dolores Deutsch in 1955 and for the next 20 years. She was then a partner with Ike in the Dairy Queen/Brazier business.

The Walter’s had three children; Becky Steiner and husband Leon of Hoisington, Roxanne Blowers and husband Bill of Hazelhurst, Wisconsin, and Steven Walter and wife Millie of Lawrence; other survivors include; two sisters, Patricia Conrad of Jacksonville, Florida, and Donna Walter of Goodyear, Arizona; five grandchildren, Tiffany Mansholt and husband Everett of Smith Center, Eric Steiner and wife Monica of Great Bend, Amber Crawford and husband John of Hoisington, Randy Walter and companion Sarah Murphy of Deer Creek, Oklahoma, and Ryan Walter and fiancee Korey Krodinger of Rogers, Arkansas; six great grandchildren, Ryker and Reed Mansholt, Isaac, Elijah and Ethan Steiner, and Mayla Crawford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ike, on January 27, 2017, and a sister, Darlene Clark.

Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.. A Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Friday, all at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Concordia Lutheran Church, with Rev. Gary Wolf presiding. Burial will follow in Golden Belt Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jacqueline Ann “Jackie” Walter

Juletta Lea (Julie Shepard Baca, 64, passed away July 26, 2020 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Stockton, California due to the COVID-19 virus which she fought hard to beat.&nbsp; She was surrounded by her loving husband and family.

Julie was born November 19, 1955 in Great Bend, Kansas to Bill and Vonnie (Dunn) Shepard.&nbsp; She was united in marriage to Jay Taylor July 20, 1974, and to that union four beautiful children were born.&nbsp; They later divorced. On April 6, 2001, Julie re-married to the love of her life John Baca.&nbsp; They were sealed for time and eternity in the Mormon Church on September 6, 2003.

Julie was raised in Great Bend, Kansas and later moved with her family to Wyoming for a time then on to California where she remained for the rest of her life. She loved the Lord with all her heart, mind and soul and it showed when interacting with others.&nbsp; She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, tending her chickens and her sheep, Molly and Polly.

She was a night shift ER secretary at St. Joseph Medical Center in Stockton, California, which is one of the most COVID19 impacted hospitals in the state.&nbsp; After 20 plus years, she was planning on retiring in November.

Julie is survived by her husband, John Baca, Lodi, California; two daughters Tia Taylor, Sacramento, California, Alisa Taylor (Kevin Gill) Woodland, California; two sons Joseph (Deven) Taylor of Murrieta, California; Christopher (Kalleen) Taylor of Lacy, Washington; twelve grandchildren Sarah of Chico, California, Ryley, Mellyssa, Lorynn, Taylin, and Talon of Woodland, California, Christoper; Spencer; Trever; Mayra all of Lacy, Washington; Nathan and Joshua of Murrieta, California; one sister: Joanita (Jo) Sherman, Great Bend, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Patrick Merrill Shepard and infant brother Nealon Blaine Shepard.

Mary Ellen “Jill” Herres, 94, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2020, in Hoisington. She was born in White Hall, Illinois, to Dr. Hans William and Marian (Winn) Broberg. Jill was a resident of Hoisington, Kansas.

Jill was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority at Kansas State University where she met her future husband, James Edward “Eddie” Herres. She graduated from K-State in 1947 and moved to San Francisco, California, to work. She and Eddie were married on October 18, 1947, in Carmel-By-The-Sea, California. They moved back to Hoisington where Eddie was born and raised and she became an active member of the community.

An avid reader, Jill was a long time Board member of the Hoisington Library. She loved animals, especially dogs, and had some very special pets. She enjoyed playing golf and attending local concerts, theater and events; she traveled to Europe and Asia. She remained involved with Delta Delta Delta and really enjoyed her PEO sisters and their good times.

She was passionate about her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She and Eddie raised two children, Blake E. Herres, DDS, of Hoisington, and Kim A. Herres, of Atlanta, GA. They survive and will miss her so very much. She was a wonderful and loving mother and wife and so much fun! Young and old enjoyed her company and she had friends of all ages and all walks of life. All who knew her will miss this very special person who loved life and lived it to its fullest.

Jill is survived by; her children, Blake and Kim; and her sister, Elizabeth Bowers (Shannon) of Sun City West, AZ; grandchildren, Addie Baird (Zach), Sarah Linsner (Kevin) and Hannah Herres; eight great grandchildren; and two nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dr. William Broberg, of Hoisington

Leo Frederick Frenzl, 96, died August 15, 2020, at Riverbend Assisted Living, Great Bend, Kansas. He was born February 11, 1924, on the family farm near Odin, the son of Hugo and Mathilda (Hoeffner) Frenzl.

Lee was a lifetime resident of the Odin area. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #2630 of Odin, Kansas.

On October 5, 1949, he married Delores Frances Schneider at St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz, Kansas. She passed away on August 2, 2018.

They lived and worked on their farm near Odin, where they resided for 65 years. They had a love of attending auctions where they made many friends and Lee found materials for his numerous projects. He had a reputation for using found materials to create toys and small sculptures such as his well-known "sparkplug airplanes".

He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Gerald Frenzl; his parents; five brothers, Frank, Joseph, August, Lawrence, and William Frenzl; and five sisters, Marie Meyeres, Teresa Wondra, Viola Meyeres, Gertrude Hickel, and Dorothy Reif.

Friends may call 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2020, with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:00 p.m., all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington.

We celebrate the life of Alberta Kraus, from Albert, Kansas,
who died at the age of 105, on August 5, 2020, at The Villages of Jackson
Creek, Independence, Missouri.

Alberta’s families honor her gracious nature, her devotion to
family, and her church. She loved music, reading, and playing cards, and had a
passion for decorating, cooking, and kindness and service to others. We are so
proud to have had such a fine parent. 

She is survived by her four children, Thayne Kraus (wife
Leona), Lorna Shaw (husband Don), Marilyn Ginther (husband Glenn), and Karen
Organ (husband Wayne); grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great
grandchildren; and one brother, Frank Offutt. She was preceded in death by her
parents, Agnes and I.S. Offutt; six of her seven siblings; her husband of 48
years, Harvey M. Kraus; and her second husband of 18 years, Elmer Mausolf. 

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
Graveside services will be announced at a later date and inurnment will be in

GREAT BEND - Mary F. Ward,
73, passed away August 9, 2020, at her home in Great Bend. She was born on
April 22, 1947, in Robstown, Texas, the daughter of Manuel &amp; Manuela “Emma”
(Granados) Moreno. She married Larry Dean Ward on April 27, 1963, at Great
Bend.&nbsp; He died December 21, 2011.

A lifetime
Barton County resident, Mary worked in housekeeping at Great Bend Health &amp;
Rehab. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her
children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. &nbsp;

Survivors
include, two sons, Jake Ward and wife Connie, and Kenneth L. Ward, all of Great
Bend; three daughters, Shelley Ward of Great Bend, Melissa Schremmer and

Frances Helen “Fran” Best, 83, died August 9, 2020, at
Sandstone Heights Nursing Home, Little River, Kansas.&nbsp; She was born September 25, 1936, in Hays,
Kansas, the daughter of Alexander and Enid L. (Lambert) McKenna.

Fran graduated from Palco Rural High School in 1955, and took
many courses throughout her lifetime at schools like, Barton County Community
College, Parks School of Business, Colorado School of Mines, Hutchinson JUCO,
Norriss Training, and Kansas State University.

A resident of Bushton since 1963, Fran was an assistant
cashier at the Bushton State Bank for 28 years. She was a member of the United
Methodist Church, Bushton, Kansas, where she was a former president of the
United Methodist Women. Fran was also a member of the Order of the Eastern
Star, a past president of the FHA, a den mother for the Boy Scouts, and a
reading tutor. Fran was a talented seamstress and always had her sewing kit on
hand wherever she went.&nbsp; She enjoyed
making baby dolls for children of her friends and even kiln fired her own
porcelain dolls. She was also an avid jewelry collector, designer, and creator.

On November 6, 1958, she married Robert Ray “Bob” Best in
Hutchinson, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2017.

Survivors include; a sister, Barbara Bunch and husband Rusty
of Kanopolis; brother-in-law, Harlan Best and wife Patti; two sisters-in-law,
Patty Harman and husband Joe, and Judy Maxfield, all of Hutchinson; many nieces
and nephews, including, niece, Susan Sanders and husband Brian of Giltner,
Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by; her parents, Alexander and
Enid L. McKenna; her husband Bob; son, Curtis Ray Best; brothers, Billy Joe,
Charley “Wayne”, Everett, and Robert McKenna; and a sister, Margaret “Joan”
McKenna.

Visitation
will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday and Friday, and prior to service from 9 a.m.
until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

was born April 3, 1921, in Woodston, Kansas, the son of Perry J. and Blanche A.
(Dibble) Cotten.&nbsp; Wilbur graduated from
Woodston High School in 1938. He was a WWII veteran, serving as a Staff
Sergeant in the Army Air Corp from 1942 to 1946.

On
June 21, 1947, he married Phoebe Joyce Benedick in Stockton, Kansas.&nbsp; She preceded him in death on January 10,
1977. He then married Marjorie Duncan in 1979 and they later divorced.

A
longtime Hoisington resident, Wilbur was a tool pusher in the oil field. He was
a member of the Masonic Lodge, of Osborne, Kansas. Wilbur was a fan of the
Chiefs, Royals, and Jayhawks, but especially loved attending his grandchildren’s
sporting events.

Survivors
include; four children, Janet Dayton and husband Bill of Great Bend, Joe Cotten
and wife Ginger of Hoisington, Jeff Cotten and wife Tammy of Susank, and Jodi

She was born July 29, 1931 in Memphis, Tennessee to William
and Margaret Crowe Vincent.

A longtime area resident, she was of the Christian faith and
a registered dietician at Larned State Hospital. 

On October 21, 1988 she married Wendell Griffin at Larned;
he preceded her in death on November 12, 2018. 

Survivors include: two daughters, Maggie McIntosh,
Smith Center and Amy Hansen, Texas City, Texas; son, Jack Braley, Bosier City,
Louisiana; three step sons, David (Theresa), Byron and Bruce (Elizabeth) all of
Larned; step daughter, Brenda (Brian) Reed, Larned; brother, Jerry Vincent,
Florida; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Smith Center and Amy Hansen, Texas City, Texas; son, Jack Braley, Bosier City,
Louisiana; three step sons, David (Theresa), Byron and Bruce (Elizabeth) all of
Larned; step daughter, Brenda (Brian) Reed, Larned; brother, Jerry Vincent,
Florida; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her
parents; husband, Wendell; two brothers, Glenn Vincent, Larry Vincent; and a
sister, Jeanie Nance. Cremation has taken place and a
