GREAT
BEND - Mary A. LeRoy
passed away September 11, 2020.&nbsp; She was born July 8, 1932, in rural
Butler County near Towanda, Kansas, the daughter of Benoni and DeVesta
(Kennedy) Smith.&nbsp; She married Louis A. LeRoy on November 26, 1950.

Mary was a homemaker, church secretary, and bookkeeper.&nbsp; She was a
member of First Presbyterian Church of Great Bend, where she served terms as
Deacon, Elder, and Clerk of Session; was active in the Presbyterian Women’s
organization, serving as secretary; and was chairperson for the Prayer Tower. 

She is survived by two sons: Jeffrey LeRoy, and Mark LeRoy (Lea Ann),
both of Great Bend; one daughter: Shari Blase (Robert), of rural Hoisington;
four grandchildren: Jacob Blase (Kaylee), Shannon (Blase) Elliott (Jeff),
Douglas Blase (Lindsey), all of the Kansas City area, and Kyle LeRoy (Chelsy),
of Larned; eight great-grandchildren: Juliet and Natalie Blase; Samantha,
Saoirse, and Arthur Elliott; Atlas Blase; and Calvin and Alyxandra LeRoy; in-laws,
Duane and JoAnn (LeRoy) Stoskopf, of Olathe; and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson Garrett
Blase; three sisters: Thelma Smith, Hazel Ratts, and Evelyn Morris; and four
brothers: Boyd Smith, Bruce Smith, Frank Smith, and Ben Smith.&nbsp; 

Cremation has taken place, and a private graveside service will be held
at a later date.&nbsp; Inurnment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery.&nbsp; Memorials
are suggested to First Presbyterian Church, and Hospice at Hays Medical Center,
in care of Bryant Funeral Home.

Janet Ruth Neighbors, 95, passed away September 10, 2020, at Great Bend Health
&amp; Rehab. She was born on February 3, 1925, at Waco, Texas, to Paul &amp;
Blanche Holland. She married Ervin Melvin Neighbors on September 25, 1950, at Great
Bend.&nbsp; He died July 24, 2010.

A lifetime
Great Bend resident, Janet was a member of the Eagles Lodge, American Legion
Ladies Auxiliary, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling and was a long
time devoted Wal-Mart employee. 

Surviving
are four daughters, including, Sheila Smith of Great Bend, Sherrie Holmes of
Winfield, and Tamra Downs and husband Robert of Augusta; many grandchildren;
and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her
husband, Ervin Neighbors; and a daughter, Rickie Kay Weighous. 

There will
be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be held
at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 14, 2020, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great
Bend, with Pastor Aaron Withrow presiding. Memorials are suggested to the Donor’s

Buczinski, 72, passed away September 10, 2020, at Rolling Hills Health &amp;
Rehab, Wichita. He was born on September 30, 1947, at Wichita, to Lawrence
&amp; June (Smith) Buczinski. He married Marilyn Kay Soeken on January 10, 1971,
at Claflin. She survives.

A lifetime
Barton county resident, Larry lived in Great Bend. He was a police officer for
several years in both Great Bend and Ellinwood and an EMT in Ellinwood. He was
a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Bend, American Legion Post #180,
the American Legion Riders and the Lions Club. He was a United States Army
veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam and one tour in Germany and Kosovo. He
was a family man and many considered him a Jack of all trades, as he especially
enjoyed helping others. 

Survivors
include, his wife, Marilyn Buczinski of the home; a son, John Buczinski and
wife Maranda of Emporia; a daughter, Jessica Runnels and husband Paul of
Larned; a brother, Daniel Buczinski and wife Diana of Goddard; three sisters,
Diana Rightmire and husband Warren, and Geneva Spotz, all of Kansas City, Mo.,
and Mary Richardson of Wichita; thirteen grandchildren; and four great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles
Buczinski; and a sister, Christina Gonzalez. 

Visitation
will be held from Noon to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at Bryant
Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral
Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2020, at Trinity
Lutheran Church in Great Bend, with Pastor Jon Brudvig presiding. Interment
will be in the Claflin Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Fort Riley
Honor Guard and the American Legion Riders. Memorials are suggested to Trinity

Gideon, 84, Hays, died Sunday, September 6, 2020 at HaysMed.

She was born
September 30, 1935 in Great Bend, Kansas the daughter of Raymond Fritz and Ruby
Rebecca (Koch) Eggers.&nbsp; In 1953 she graduated from Ellinwood High
School.&nbsp; On August 20, 1953 she was united in marriage to Fray Oland
Gideon in Ellinwood, and they celebrated over 66 years of marriage before he
preceded her in death on March 2, 2020.&nbsp; She was a cook at the Garden City
Junior High School, worked at Travenol, and with her husband Fray, managed
several hotels, where she was also the housekeeper.&nbsp; She was a member of
the First Baptist Church in Hays, enjoyed working puzzle books, and loved
spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren while managing
the hotels.

Survivors include
a son; Keith Gideon and wife Denise of Rossville, a daughter; Darla Froelich
and husband Van of Walker, six grandchildren; Stephanie Avery and husband
Damian, Amy Robinson and husband Donnie, Mike Gideon and wife Ronnie, Kegann
Gideon, Chans Gideon, and Tiffany Hammerschmidt and husband Chad, 11 great
grandchildren, and a sister; Rebecca Lopez and husband Robert of Appomattox,
VA.

She was preceded

Florence Ruth Gideon

John
Louis Herter, 85, passed away September 7, 2020, at Ellinwood District Hospital
after a long courageous battle with cancer.&nbsp;
He was born June 20, 1935, in Ellinwood, the son of Louis and Mildred
(Sinnott) Herter.

He was a
1953 graduate of Ellinwood High School.&nbsp; He
served in the United States Army from 1957 – 1959.&nbsp; After returning home he attended Diesel
Mechanic Tech School in St. Louis, Missouri.&nbsp;
He worked as a mechanic a short while before opening his own business
Herter Implement &amp; Auto in Claflin, Kansas. 

John met
his one true love, Carol Doll and they were united in marriage on November 28,
1963.&nbsp; John was a founding member of the
Claflin Fire Department and was the Assistant Fire Chief and served as an EMT
for many years.&nbsp; He was also a member of
the SRCA, and he enjoyed drag racing for many years.&nbsp; 

John was
a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a member of the
Knights of Columbus Council #1500, and the V.F.W., all of Claflin.

He was a
devoted father, and made sure to attend all of his children’s activities and
also enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s many events.&nbsp; John enjoyed farming for most of his adult
life.&nbsp; He cherished sharing his knowledge
of cultivating the land with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors
include: his wife of the home Carol; one daughter, Penny (Taber) Stephenson of
Olathe; two sons; Brad (Amy) of Dodge City, and Don (Stefanie) of Great Bend; six
siblings, James (Pat) Herter of McPherson, Jerry (Susan) Herter of Pocatello,
Idaho, Howard (Mary) Herter of Ellinwood, Barbara Herter, Richard (Vickie)
Herter, all of Wichita, and Helen (Stuart) Nickelson of Seattle, Washington; six
grandchildren: Tanner Stephenson of Sabetha, Derek (Brooke) Stephenson of
Liberty, Missouri, Michaela (Curtis) Toews of Whitewater, Rachael (Wyatt)
Haberman of Dodge City, Johnathan Herter of Dodge City, Alyssa Herter of Great
Bend, and one great-grandchild Emma Lynn due October, 2020.

Visitation
will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Family will greet

John Louis Herter

GREAT BEND -
Thelma R. Noblitt, 80, passed away September 8, 2020, at her home in Great
Bend. She was born on January 23, 1940, at Chelsea, Okla., to Veltie &amp;
Desie (Chandler) Beebe. She married Dan Noblitt on April 18, 1958, at Norwalk,
Calif. He died May 4, 2013.

Coming from
Downey, California in 1972, Thelma was a Great Bend resident. She was the hotel
manager for Super 8 and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Great Bend.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading and baking. 

Survivors
include, a son, Robert Noblitt and wife Angela, and a daughter, Tammy Noblitt,
all of Great Bend; four grandchildren, Michel Maneth (Trevor), Kimber Wedel
(Tyler), Daniel Noblitt (Stacy Beiker), and Jeremy King (Jacque); and twelve
great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dan
Noblitt; three brothers, Lee Beebe, Jim Beebe, and Hank Beebe; and a sister,
Lois Merrit. 

There will be no services as cremation has taken place.

Thelma R. Noblitt, 80, passed away September 8, 2020, at her home in Great
Bend. She was born on January 23, 1940, at Chelsea, Okla., to Veltie &amp;
Desie (Chandler) Beebe. She married Dan Noblitt on April 18, 1958, at Norwalk,
Calif. He died May 4, 2013. Coming from
Downey, California in 1972, Thelma was a Great Bend resident. She was the hotel
manager for Super 8 and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Great Bend.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading and baking. Survivors
include, a son, Robert Noblitt and wife Angela, and a daughter, Tammy Noblitt,
all of Great Bend; four grandchildren, Michel Maneth (Trevor), Kimber Wedel
(Tyler), Daniel Noblitt (Stacy Beiker), and Jeremy King (Jacque); and twelve
great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dan
Noblitt; three brothers, Lee Beebe, Jim Beebe, and Hank Beebe; and a sister,
Lois Merrit. There will be no services as cremation has taken place.

GREAT BEND - Gene H. Holloway, born on Jan. 24, 1933, died Sept.
2, 2020, at Stafford County Hospital after a short illness with covered stays
including Hutchinson and Pratt hospitals.

Gene is survived by his wife, Mary Lou of Stafford; a son, Jay
Holloway and wife Dawn of Great Bend; a granddaughter, Montana Holloway of Pratt;
a step daughter, Debra Ackley of Wichita; grandson, Cain Amos and step grandson,
Dallas Marlow; great grandchildren, Austin Amos, Madison Amos, Ryder Morris,
Kaimana Morris, and Kairyana Morris; a great great grandchild, Kehgan Amos;
brother in law, Karol Claypool; and nephew, TJ Claypool of Stafford. There are
a host of neices and nephews from the Claypool, Holloway, Meridith and Lonnon
families.


Gene is pre-deceased by his father, Henry Holloway of Wichita; his mother,
Kathryn Ruby Potter of Wichita and aunt, Dr. Janet Holloway, anesthesiologist
of Detroit, Michigan, both ladies had retired in Winter Haven, Florida.; son,
Ronald Lee Ackley; sister, Sarah Holloway; and sister in law, Barbara Claypool.

&nbsp;
Gene spent his working life at Beech Aircraft in Wichita where he met Mary Lou.
They were married July 15, 1960. After 4000 were laid off at Beech, Boeing and
Cessna, they moved to Stafford, Mary’s hometown and worked for Whitlock
Fertilizer Plant. They moved to Great Bend in 1964 and ran the Cooper Lawn
&amp; Garden Center. Gene worked for many years selling cars for O'Connell
Motors, Spruill Motors and Marmie Motors, then owned the Auto Mart used car
lot.

&nbsp;
Gene and Mary both loved to garden and worked the farmers market for over 20
years and many trips to bring Colorado peaches to the market. Gene loved to
fish the Arkansas, Ninnescah and Walnut Rivers. The fish will miss his way of
catch and release, and he will be missed by family and friends.

&nbsp;
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2020, at
Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Bill Arnold presiding. Thank you
to Owen Song, international student of Gene and Mary from Seoul, South Korea,
for saying a special prayer in Korean for grandpa. Memorials are suggested to

died at his home in Great Bend
early on Sunday morning, September 6, 2020.&nbsp;
Tom was born on May 14, 1958 at Hoisington,
Kansas to Henry Eugene and Ruth Ann (Marker)
Dunnaway.&nbsp; He lived in the Great
Bend area nearly all his life, except for a five year period when he
lived in Laughlin, Nevada.
&nbsp;Tom worked on drilling rigs and pumping
units in the oilfield for many years until he was disabled five years ago.&nbsp; He enjoyed snake hunting, arrowhead hunting,
hanging out with his friends, and was a big Pink Floyd fan.&nbsp; Tom was also known to be an avid storyteller.&nbsp;

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Survivors include
two sons:&nbsp; Matthew Dunnaway of Osage

received his angel wings on Saturday, September 5, 2020. He was born August 30,
2006 the son of Delbert &amp; Hope (Slack) Randolph.
He loved spending time with his grandparents and playing outside with his dog,
Stormy. He also enjoyed fishing, playing basketball, playing guitar, roller
skating, riding his bicycle, and racing and doing stunts on his BMX bike. He
attended Great Bend Middle
School and was a member of Boy Scout Troop 157. He
was fascinated by storms and wanted to be a meteorologist when he grew up.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Alice Maudine Lantz, 93, Otis, Kansas, died Friday, September 4, 2020, at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse, Kansas.

Maudine was born April 8, 1927, in Abilene, Kansas, the daughter of 
Eugene Walker and Allie E. (Probasco) Steele.&nbsp; She was a 27 year 
resident of Rush County, Kansas, moving from California.&nbsp; &nbsp;A 1945 
graduate of Dickinson County High School, Chapman, Kansas, she was a 
homemaker and farm wife.&nbsp; Maudine also served as the librarian for the 
Clyde Public Library, Clyde, Kansas, and the Otis Community Library, 
Otis, Kansas.&nbsp; She also served on both library boards.

She was a former member of the VFW Auxiliary, and the UMW (United 
Methodist Women), both of Otis, Kansas.&nbsp; Maudine loved to sing, singing 
in the church choir, and quartet.&nbsp; Her love of singing and music was 
instilled in her when she was a young girl listening to her father play 
the fiddle at barn dances.

On August 3, 1957, she married Kenneth O. Lantz at Abilene, Kansas.&nbsp; He preceded her in death November 22, 2016.&nbsp;

Survivors include:&nbsp; two sons, Retired Colonel Dwight Engle (Annette),
 Napa, Idaho, and Alan Engle (Lanie), Manhattan, Kansas; three 
daughters, Yvonne Kuhl (Larry), Napa, Idaho, Evelyn Sohm, (Steve), Otis,
 Kansas, and Nola Newcomer, Kanopolis, Kansas; 13 grandchildren; and 24 
great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, John 
Engle; one brother, Gene Steele; and five sisters, Myrtle Blackwelder, 
Eunice Witwer, Neva Jamis, Helen Foerschler, and Evelyn Krause.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9, 2020, from 5:00 P.M. to 
7:00 P.M. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas, with the 
family receiving friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Graveside service will be at Union Cemetery, Abilene, Kansas.&nbsp; 
Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Abilene, Kansas.&nbsp; Because of the

at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.

She was born May 5, 1948 in St. Francis, KS. the daughter of
Amil Earnest and Jessie Marguerite Morlan Stunkel.

An area resident since May of 1980, she was a legal
secretary for Smith, Burnett and Larson. She was a member of the Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Larned Music Club, PVCH Auxiliary and a volunteer at the
Budget Shop. She was an active church member where she played the organ and
piano. She was also an avid reader and very well informed on a multiple array
of subjects including religion and she loved her grandchildren and her newest
great granddaughter very much.&nbsp; 

On Feb 28, 1986 she married Jacques Molleker in Larned; He
survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, Scott (Sherry) Upson,
Larned, KS, Blake (Jonna) Upson, Syracuse, KS, Eric (Tanya) Molleker, Valley
Center, KS; two daughters, Jackie (Steve) Ehrlich, Woodbridge, VA, Tiffany

Cliff LaMar Summers returned with
honor to our loving Heavenly Father on the morning of September 5, 2020, after
a long and courageous battle with Inclusion Body Myositis. Cliff was born
September 17, 1948, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to LaMar and Cleo (Johnson) Summers.
Men wanted to be like him, women wanted him, but ultimately Janell Swagerty
stole his heart. They were united in marriage on February 4, 1968, in Hugoton,
Kansas. In October 1972, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the
Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Janell
was his sweetheart. They built a beautiful life together, worked through hard
times, good times and grew closer to one another. They look forward to spending
eternity together.

Cliff joined the United States Navy
in November 1967, during the Vietnam conflict. He proudly served his country
aboard the USS Brister, USS Samuel Gompers, and USS Ernest G. Small. He was
stationed in San Diego, California and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. 

Cliff was a member of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in various callings including
Bishop, High Council, and Temple Worker just to name a few. He was always
serving and trying to lighten the burdens of others. He loved the Savior and
always tried to follow his example.

He was a very devoted father.
Always making it to his children’s activities. He was the unofficial referee of
GBHS football 87-89 and 93-96. Sporting his own uniform and making the “correct
calls” from the stands. He and Janell were involved in the Panther Booster Club
and served as co-presidents at one time.

Working in the oil and gas industry
for 48 years afforded him many friendships from all over. He was a past member
of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, American Petroleum Institute, and Lions
Club. 

To most, he was known as Cliffie,
but his favorite title was that of Papa. A name he proudly honored. He adored
his 17 grandchildren and they all knew that they were loved by him. Daxton,
Cale, Ryan, Chance, Sydney, Shiloh, Caden, Reiss, Sloane, Bo, Kimber, Hunter,
Koltin, Madison, Jack, Sammy, and Jensen. 

Here’s to one amazing guy who was
always fully present, freely sharing all that he had and forever focused on
others. Tough to lose such a friend as this and thankfully, in Christ there are
no final goodbyes.

Survivors include, wife of the
home; two sons; Shane Summers (Angie) of Salina, KS and Dustin Summers
(Briannie) of Darlington, ID; three daughters, Stephanie Summers of Lehi, Utah,
Liberty Miller (Scott) of American Fork, UT and Traci Fleming (Nate) of Great
Bend, KS; seventeen wonderful grandchildren; mother and step-father Leo and

W. Dennis Elder, 68, Bison, Kansas, died Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Rush County Memorial Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed, La Crosse, Kansas.

Dennis was born September 4, 1951, in La Crosse, Kansas, the son of Leonard D. and N. JoAnne (Hall) Elder.&nbsp; He was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas. &nbsp; A 1969 graduate of Bison Rural High School, Bison, Kansas, he was a farmer.&nbsp;

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Church Choir, the Bison Community Museum, and a 43 year member of Rural Fire District 5, where he served as Fire Chief for many years, all of Bison, Kansas.&nbsp; Dennis served as the mayor of Bison for many years.&nbsp; He was also a 4-H leader for 30 years, a member of the Rush County Historical Society, Walnut City Masonic Lodge #215, MOPAC Historical Society, and the KOSMO (Kansas Organization for Space Modeling).

On August 12, 1972, he married Edith “Edie” Eitel at the United Methodist Church, Bison, Kansas. &nbsp;

Survivors include:&nbsp; his wife, Edith “Edie” Elder, Bison, Kansas; one son, William Elder (Sylvia), Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters, Joanna McAlister (Greg), St. John, Kansas, and Emily Little (Matt), De Soto, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Garrett McAlister, Lilly McAlister, Addison McAlister, Rosa Elder, Calixta Elder, Kadee Little, and Whitlee Little; his mother, N. Pamala Sue “Pam” Erickson, age 60, of Russell, Kansas, died Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.&nbsp; She was born October 12, 1959, in Great Bend, Kansas, to Ronald E. “Ron” and Alfreda J. “Freda” (Foos) Broetzmann.&nbsp; She married Ronald Blau and they later separated she then married Ken Erickson on November 12, 2016 in Russell, Kansas.

She was the director of the Physicians Clinic at the Russell Regional Hospital before she retired.&nbsp; She was a past director of the First Call for Help in Hays.&nbsp; She was a licensed&nbsp;practical nurse and was a graduate of North Central Kansas Technical College.&nbsp; She also received a Bachelor’s Degree in human resource management and a Master’s Degree in&nbsp; adult educations.&nbsp; Pam grew up in Garden City and was a 1977 graduate of Goodland High School.&nbsp; She loved to be with her family, grandchildren and enjoyed her pets. &nbsp;

Survivors include her husband, Ken Erickson, of the home; one son, Josh Blau, Overland Park, KS; one daughter, Chelsee Hoffman and husband, Daniel, Russell, KS; two stepsons, Jason Erickson, Liberty Lake, WA; Jordan Erickson and wife, Michelle, Los Balnon, CA; one sister, Lori Hertel and husband, Stan, Hays, KS; mother-in-law, Margaret Stedman, Oberlin, KS; two grandchildren, Bailee and Landry Hoffman; and one step-grandchild, Elias Erickson. &nbsp;

GREAT BEND - Van Gray, 76, passed away September 1, 2020, at Diversicare of Larned. He was born Oct. 17, 1944, in Bernice, LA to Bill &amp; Elvira (Levingston) Gray. Moving here when he was very young, the family resided in Hoisington, KS, where he attended school. In 1966, he married Bernice Robinson but they later divorced in 1995.

Van was a long time Great Bend resident, where he worked for Johnson’s Electric for many years until he retired. He loved to fish, hunt, and play baseball when he was younger.

Survivors include, a son, Kenneth Ray Gray of Great Bend, KS; a daughter, Shionta Gray of Great Bend, KS; sisters, Wanda Oaks (Cleveland), and Audrey Mae Wright (Ray), and a brother, Billy Ray Gray (Sharon), all of Salina, KS; seven grandchildren, Ouray, D’Kenna, D’Kari, Keyon, Kingston, LaTaja, and TaNaja; three great grandchildren, Tre’Von, RayShaun, and Taylor; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Elvira Gray; a daughter, Kena Lachelle Gray; a sister, Eula Mae Robinson; and four brothers, Hilton Gray, Don Gray, J.C. Gray, and Roy Gray.

Larned&nbsp; - Ina Mae
Slough (Horton) died May 16th at Riderwood Village in Silver Spring,
MD.

Born May 23, 1931 in Larned, Kansas, Ina was just a week shy
of her 89th birthday.&nbsp; Ina is
survived by her sister, Zelma Ann Hanna, and predeceased by her sister Mary
Katherine Cunningham, brothers Stanley Dean Horton, and Allen Dwayne Horton,
and her parents Thomas and Goldie Horton. 

Ina married Sammy Slough on December 30th, 1953
in Larned, Kansas. From her marriage Ina had three children. Ina is survived by
her daughter Debra Nusbaum and son Sammy Slough Jr, and predeceased by her son
Gary Slough. Ina is also survived by five grandchildren and three great
grandchildren.

Ina graduated from Grace Hospital School of Nursing in
Hutchinson, KS in 1953. She worked as a Registered Nurse throughout her years
while living in Kansas, Delaware, Maryland, and California. 

Ina loved to cook, embroider, and read. She was an active
member of the Methodist Church everywhere that she lived, and worked as a
volunteer at various hospitals. 

Memorial Service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19th
at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel and live streamed via Facebook Live, with Pastor
Tricia North presiding.&nbsp; Inurnment will
follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Zook, KS.&nbsp;

“Kay” Neighbors, 78, passed away August 19, 2020, at Diversicare of Larned. She
was born on May 21, 1942, at Great Bend, to Lloyd &amp; Bernadine (Goodman)
Davis. She married Jack Lee Neighbors on June 2, 1970, at Oklahoma City, OK.&nbsp; He died July 27, 2006.

A lifetime
Barton county resident and long-time farmer, Kay worked for Great Bend
Manufacturing as a secretary and in accounts payable at Barton Community
College. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Larned. She enjoyed
baking, flower and vegetable gardening and crafts of all kinds. She especially
loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors
include, three sons, Brian Wilson and wife Dana of Enid, Okla., Kent Bowersox
and wife Xan of Larned, and Arthur Dean Bowersox of Great Bend; two daughters,
Laryssa Howard, and Jana Britt and husband Robert, all of Great Bend; a
brother, Wayne Davis and wife Carolyn of Florida; sixteen grandchildren; and
six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lee
Neighbors; and her parents. 

There will
be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at
10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home. Inurnment

Walter, 71, passed away August 31, 2020, at the University of Kansas Health
System – Great Bend Campus. She was born on November 8, 1948, at Wichita to
Joseph &amp; Helen (Helbert) Greenleaf. She married Doug Walter on June 25,
1981, at Great Bend. He survives.

Coming from
Wichita in 1964, Cheri was a Great Bend resident. She retired from McPherson
and McVey Law Office as a debt collector. She enjoyed cross stitching and stained
glass work. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. 

Survivors
include, her husband, Doug Walter of the home; three daughters, Tami Johns, and
Melissa Crawford and husband James, all of Great Bend, and Pamela Cooper and
husband Patrick of Wichita; and five beloved grandchildren, Gavin Crawford,
Kamryn Johns, Khloe Johns, William Dixon, and Seth Choyce. 

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A
Celebration of Life Service will be at the home of Doug and Cheri, at 11:00

“Bubba” Weese Jr., 69, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020, at his home in
Great Bend. He was born November 24, 1950, in Pratt the son of Calvin and Helen
(Miller) Weese.

Calvin has
been a Great Bend resident since 1989, coming from Manhattan. He was a police
officer for the city of Manhattan for twenty years, after retiring from the
police department he worked for Wal-Mart in Great Bend for twenty years. He was
a member of Church of Christ. He enjoyed going to Colorado and camping,
4-wheeling and shooting.

Survivors include
one son Kenneth Johnson of Wichita; two daughters Tina (Bill) Kausler of
Junction City and Nicole (John) Stroh of Manhattan; four brothers Greg (Cindy)
Weese of Kansas City, MO, Jeff (Lanette) Weese, and Kevin Weese all of Great
Bend, Sean (Debbie) Weese of St Louis, MO.; two sisters Sherry (Tom) Stewart of
Enporia, and Kim Jordan of Great Bend; five grandchildren Megan Wood, Ryan

&nbsp;On August 28th, 2020, Bob Ritter of
Great Bend passed away at the age of 64. Born to Roy and Kay (Wharton) Ritter
of Urbana, NY on September 19th 1955.

Raised on
the family dairy farm, Bob was quick to learn the valve of hard work which
would remain with him for the rest of his life. After serving a short term in
the U.S. Army (1975-1978).Bob found himself starting a new life in central

Bob loved
to work. There were always projects on his never ending to do list. He knew there
was a way for him to repair something in order to keep from having to buy a new
one. Working outside or inside, on houses or cars, Bob had to be doing
something.

Bob’s love
for family was even stronger. Bob is survived by his loving wife of fourteen
years, Nancy; his five children; three step-children; thirteen grandchildren
and one great grandson. Bob also leaves behind his two sisters and four
brothers as well as many other friends and family.

A services
will be held at the home of Bob and Nancy Ritter, 29 NE 30 Rd, Great Bend, KS
67530. 

Friday
September 4th, 2020 at 10:30 am. No visitation will be held as
cremation has taken place.

Great Bend passed away at the age of 64. Born to Roy and Kay (Wharton) Ritter
of Urbana, NY on September 19th 1955.Raised on
the family dairy farm, Bob was quick to learn the valve of hard work which
would remain with him for the rest of his life. After serving a short term in
the U.S. Army (1975-1978).Bob found himself starting a new life in central

Burdine, 58 passed away August 29, 2020 at University of Kansas Health System,
Pawnee Valley Campus, Larned.

She was born March 22, 1962 in Larned; the daughter of
Dale Jones and Sarah Beatrice Moore.&nbsp; She
worked in Housekeeping and was a Mental Health Technician at Larned State
Hospital.&nbsp; Wanting to improve her life,
she went to school in Kansas City, Missouri to become a medical assistant and
worked at Medicalodge of Kinsley.

She attended the Escue Chapel, CME Church in Larned
and liked collecting purses and shoes. 

Survivors include; father, Dale (Mary) Jones, Larned;
son, Douglas Burdine, Hutchinson; six brothers; Tony (Katherine) Fleming,
Salisbury, North Carolina, Jerry (Kala) Hurde, Salina, Galen Harris, Wichita,
Daniel (Sharla) Jones, Edmond, Oklahoma, Paul (Joyce) Jones, Euharlee, Georgia,
Eric (Kari) Jones, Wichita; three sisters; Deloris Harris, Larned, Julianna
(Pete) Frazier, Larned and Melanie (Chris) Ryan, Great Bend and three
grandchildren, Malachi, Zaydenn and Blyss Burdine.

She was preceded in death by: her mother, Sarah Moore
and her grandmother Annabelle Brewer.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will
be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Chris
and Melanie Ryan presiding.
