APPROVAL OF APPROPRIATIONS: -An Accounts Payable Register was approved for the period of August 31, 2022, and ending September 14, 2022.
OLD BUSINESS - RESOLUTION: A Resolution Concerning the Involvement of Sitting Barton County Commissioners on Area Boards and Committees: Tabled.
NEW BUSINESS - COUNTY CLERK’S OFFICE: Request for Approval – Added / Abated / Escaped / Refunded Taxes: -Chris Saenz, Deputy County Clerk, presented a listing of Added / Abated / Escaped / Refunded Taxes. The listing was approved.
FAÇADE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT: Request for Additional Funding – Jared and Adeline Chansler: -Jared Chansler will provide details. In September, 2021, Jared and Adeline Chansler, 1604 Main, Great Bend, Kansas, were awarded a $7,763.37 Façade Improvement Grant allocation. The final accounting for the project indicates an overrun of $998.84. The Commission agreed to provide 75% of the overrun, $749.13.
ITEM C. CONSIDERATION OF ROAD VACATION: A Portion of Various Roadways in Buffalo and Eureka Townships, Barton County, Kansas: -Barry McManaman, County Engineer, will provide details. Barton County received a request to vacate portions of NW 60 Avenue, NW 45 Road and NW 50 Road, being located in Buffalo and Eureka Townships. On September 7, 2022, the Commission publicly viewed the roadways. Legal notices were published in the Great Bend Tribune advising of the date, time and place for both the viewing and consideration of the vacation request by the Barton County Commission. The Order was adopted and the road are now vacated.
