On Friday, Dec. 6, a manhole on 19th Street broke causing a hazard in the roadway. The City of Great Bend has a contractor that will be replacing the manhole Monday, Dec. 9.
For the safety of the crew working and the safety of traffic, the city will have the 3200 block of 19th completely closed at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8. This is the block east of Harrison on 19th by the middle school. Please be aware of the need to avoid or reroute around the area.
The city is planning for work to take one day and after the repairs are made 19th will be opened back up but there will be barricades in the middle of the street allowing vehicles to pass on each side of the work area. Please be attentive and aware as crews work to make repairs in the area.
