The Barton Community College women's track and field team placed 4th at the NJCAA Division I Championships held the past three days at Hutchinson's Gowans Stadium.
The Cougars were just two points back from hardware and eight back from a national runner-up in compiling 90 points. Iowa Western won the meet for the first time in program history by wracking up 117 points with New Mexico and Cloud County on the award stand with 98 and 92 points respectively.
Barton won two events during the Championship, Deborah Lowe winning the Hepthathlon's final event 800m and Kelsie Murrell-Ross taking the shot put title.
