Barton eSports hits midway point of season

Approaching the midway point of the regular season, the Barton Community College eSports team recorded mixed results in week four action.

Having its' three-week winning streak snapped, the Cougars constructed a 3-6 record over their nine games to sit 17-16 overall on the year. The Barton gamers will open week five Monday with another nine games on the docket.

Remaining unblemished on the season was the Overwatch 2 squad of Jared Alvidrez, Jacob Fullingim, Dominik Strba, Cameron Howell, and Cole Burtin as the five-pack pounced on Iowa Western Community College notching a 3-1 victory.

Other victories on the week came from the Fortnite clan securing a 2-0 season opening win over Pensacola College while the Call of Duty Gun Fight group opened their two matches with a 3-0 blanking over Florida Gulf Coast before falling for the first time on the season to Region VI rival Hutchinson Community College 3-0 in their second match of the week.

Barton's Call of Duty 4v4 the other lone undefeated group heading into the week had their perfect streak snapped dropping a 3-1 result to Catawba Valley Community College.
