As another reminder, the City of Great Bend, in partnership with JEO Consulting Group, will be conducting in-person visits to homes and businesses starting Monday, Feb. 10 as part of a federally mandated water service line inventory.

Multiple surveys have been sent out to water customers in Great Bend asking what type of material their water line is made of as it enters the home. Great Bend Public Works Director Jason Cauley said this door-to-door approach hopes to get more results from those that have not submitted information.

"On the city side of things, we have gone through our documentation," said Cauley. "Through that documentation, we were able to glean enough information to complete our side of it. Now we're working on the private side. That's where we lack those numbers for completion."

This will help identify and address any potential lead service lines and ensure safety of the water system.
